This move is straight up godlike in this game. The fact that you can cancel it out of Smash with no effort also makes it an absolute godsend in certain MUs. The reason I say this is because Kirby basically reaches ducking height while using his Up Smash, and as we all know Kirby can duck under to avoid quite a few attacks, some of which are melee attacks. I'll be making a video soon once I get a couple more examples (I forget to save so many matches where I showcase this tech) but basically this allows you to approach certain people for free if they read you wrong and don't cover your Up Smash's ducking hitbox as an option

Have we come up for a name for this kinda tech or are we just gonna call anything that involves Kirby being a tiny little hitbox "ducking"?

Hey, can't wait to see these videos so I can fully understand what you mean. As for naming Kirby's tiny hitbox, maybe we could go with something like "reduce" or "minimize"? If we can't agree on something, then we'll keep calling it ducking.

Yeah gonna need clarification on what you mean by "out of Smash". On the note of the minimized hitbox just calling it ducking works so long as everyone is on board with it. I feel like as long as the word makes sense it should be fine, like saying crouching could work too.

Call this 'tech': Up-Smash. He retains his ducking animation while charging it.

It works similarly in Brawl, and one thing I contribute about it is:
D-throw -> (charge) U-smash

It covers a lot of the opponents' options including Air Dodge and most overhead Aerial Attacks. This worked especially well on Meta Knight because most Meta Knight players' options after the D-throw is to quickly counter with a D-air which whiffs over Kirby's ducking animation and puts them in the range of the U-smash's sweet-spot.

From what I've seen so far in SSB4, this still works, if not better.

Edit:
It's not gdlk.
