Now this is merely speculation and if this has been brought up else where, then please show me. I want to hear what people think of this.

I was doing some thinking and I found it wierd that we had two Kid Icarus updates this week on the Dojo website. Wendsday was The Underworld's theme and today was Pit's Final Smash. Now, every week we have had a character update and I was guessing either Peach, Captain Falcon, or Metaknight this week. However, these three updates has had me stumped who the next confirmed character will be.

Now...this part is speculation but we could possibly see an entirely new character by tommorow. My reasoning is this:

Sakurai has yet to release a new character this week. However, when he released Ike, he released the Castle Siege stage. As well, when he releases Samus' new FS, he released the profile for Zamus. Likewise, when he released Bowser, he released his FS.

So we have yet to see a character update. Sakurai could do 1 of 3 things:

1. Release a veteran or a newcomer character tommorow.
2. Throw our logic out the window and have no character confirmation this week.
3. Release a entirely new character; never before seen.

However, when I think about it. It would seem almost pointless to release a veteran or Metaknight tommorow because of the last two updates. If he would of added Peach, by all things considered, it should of been this Monday after the video confirmed her prescence in the game. The only logical reason to introduce a new veteran is if Sakurai carried it over to next Monday. Save for Samus and Pit, no other characters have been released on a Friday. As well, Sakurai carried the update over to Monday with a update on Pitts attacks. However, that was when he first started doing the weekday updates on the website. It might just be me but it would throw everything off logical if we get a veteran character update because we just had two Kid Icarus updates on Wendsday and today (unless he does carry it over to monday with a FS, attack list, or something else).

Sakurai also could just not do a character update this week but I do not see this happening.

So this leads to my main point, we could see a possible new never seen character tommorow. Sakurai could do the same thing and release a character and then do a FS or attack list on Monday. Or not. However, upon looking at the two KI updates, I am puzzled why they are positioned there. Why not have the character update be on Wendsday and these two on Thursday and Friday? That way, he can start anew next week with a new update.

So, to cut to the short. I think we may see a new character tommorow. And, quite possibly, it could be another Kid Icarus character. I ruled out Palutena because she appears as a FS. So most likely she won't be a new character. However. this image got me intrested.

We see both Pit and Palutena in this picture. However, to me at least, this Subspace Emissary seems to highlight on alot of the villains (Bowser, Ganondorf, Metaknight, etc and possibly on Wolf, Ridley, etc who knows). That is the feeling I get from this that Sakurai is trying to incorporate more villains into the series so we have a distinct line between good and bad characters throug the storymode.

Therefore, we may see a Kid Icarus character who could go against Pit which, of course, would be Medusa. I did some reserach (I never did play KI) and I found she would be a very intresting character for the game. Sakurai incorporated Pit into SSBB really well with a unique moveset and I can see the same for Medusa. Also from Yesterdays update, The Underworld is where Medusa is so we could see another stage in that form.

This did take a while to conceptualize and type out so please don;t regard it as some n00bish weish or whatnot. Merely speculation.

Any thoughts or am I just going crazy?

PS sorry for such a long post. I know alot of people dislike these type of posts.

We had FE updates last Wednesday and Thursday, yet the friday update wasn't related to FE as all (Ike didn't even appear). I'm not expecting this Friday to be Kid Icarus related either, and I highly doubt we'd get another newcomer after just getting Ike a week ago when there are still so many veterans to still confirm, not to mention some franchises still need a character rep shown before Kid Icarus, a retro franchise introduced this smash, get's another (supposing it get's one). If we do get an character update, it'll be a veteran (or probably Meta-knight, but with Ike confirmed this month he may push it off).

As for Medusa, I doubt she'll be playable for the same reason I doubted Palutena would be playable. Kid Icarus is a franchise that has been, for the lack of a better term, dead for 15 years, with only 2 games under it's belt. With F-Zero and Earthbound unlikely to get more than 2 reps, franchises that have been with the series from the beginning, I can't imagine Kid Icarus getting the same recognition of playable characters. Plus, I doubt each playable franchise in Brawl will get a villain rep, as that means each franchise would need at least 2 reps. I also disagree that the SE highlighted on villains at all, as Bowser, an already confirmed character, was a no show during the entire update. Heck, the only 'villain' shown was Meta Knight, and he's not even that much of a villain in his respective franchise.

Yeah, I was just speculating. I was looking at the website and did some research and found thier hasn't been a friday character release since Samus so one thought led to another. As well, I just wanted to see people's opinions on the matter.

The SE seems to me a battle against "evil". However, would Metaknight, Wario, or Wolf be considered villains in the Smash Brothers franchise? From the way the story is setting up, it looks like Sakurai is trying to incorporate more villains into the story.

We all thought Peach would show Monday, and we're still lacking this week's (presumable) character update. Friday generally tends to be significantly better than average, so the line of thought that says we will see a new character isn't too far off. But with Ike just announced, they have to save coal for the hype train. What could make tomorrow's update Friday-worthy is if Peach is shown and her neutral B is altered to accomodate Toad as a PC.

Anyways, I can see why a new Kid Icarus character might not be in the game. I personally would love to see a Earthbound, Donkey Kong, or F-Zero character update. As for Medusa, this was merely a thought I had while taking a shower and did a little bit of research. I have no bias in wether she goes in Brawl or is not.

Nothing wrong with speculating, though I think Sakurai is just toying with us. He probably realized that everyone was expecting a Peach bio after last fridays update, and has been holding it off all week. Now with Friday everyone thinks that Peach will show up, and then he'll hit us with Captain Falcon or something. I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls a Yoshi on us with Peach.

Yeah. I was trying to figure out how you would play Bowser in the SE mode. One idea is that, for Samus. Ridley could be Samus' "enemy" in the game but the smog guys and whoever is controlling them ends up being the real enemy. It's intresting, ne.

Xaron something made a good story about SE. It had all the characters playable and characters like Metaknight, Bowser were playable and on the good side. The evil was Sonic, Megaman, Snake, who were being controlled by someone else. The other evil was Master and Crazy hands auctual body. I will try to find a link.

I personally don't think there is large enough of a sample size to point out trends or inconsistancies. All we know is we get at least one character a week but even that could just be very, very likely and not definitive.

I'm going against the crowd and saying we'll see Captain Falcon tomorrow even with the knowledge I'm probably wrong. xD

Hopefully Sakurai will update with a character tomorrow. I wouldn't even mind if it were someone we already knew, i'm just used to the whole character a week thing.

I see where you're coming from with your point, but at the same time i hope it's not true, because as i said about the Palutena support thread, i don't think Kid Icarus deserves two characters. That's nothing to do with this thread, though.

Maybe it's just Sakurai fleshing out one of the existing characters, because he hasn't done so in a while?

Technically, no. Yes, we did get a update of Pit's final smash however it's not considered a confirmed character update though. That's what this is about.

Your source is bad. Expect a minimum of 35 characters.... why would he "squeeze in" ONE more character than there was in smash melee lol rediculous
