I'm a falco player and one of the most common fights is versus Marth (and fox). Inevitably we've all seen Ken play his amazing Marth against a lot of characters aside from falco...

Anyways, I know Ken is unbelievable with frame management, l-canceling, timing, etc. But it seems to me he doesn't really wavedash that often. I know a lot of his habits come from playing before that stuff was discovered (that's one of the reasons why he rolls more than any other pro).

Is there any other reason why he doesn't use wavedashing or wavelanding that much? Do you think it impairs his play style? From what I've seen, a lot of Marth's use those techniques very integrally. Of course I know he can get away with not wavedashing (champion of smash), I was just curious if anyone else had thought about this before.

Well, my buds and i are pretty good.. and i know one of my buds never wavedashes, albeit he uses sheik. The other, my bud, doesnt either, he uses samus. Both are good, but, because they played way too much before we discovered WDing and whatnot, they just dont impliment it into their play, like myself and most others do... They just naturally space and do other things to compensate.
WD and WLanding usually, imo, is used to keep spacing.. but if u can do it properly, why waste the time?

He has good instincts, from playing lots, much like my bro and my bud, so, they dont really need to do it, much like aniki.

Aniki would get his *** beat less if he learned how to WD, same as your friends Arkengate (Not to say their bad players).

I remember Ken saying he didn't WD so much because he prefered to DD a lot, saying it gave him more options.

he doesn't wavedash with marth, because its not an essential part of marth's game plan.
wavedashing with marth only serves to increase your mindgaming capability, its not nearly as essential as it is for, say, luigi, or ice climbers
