Hmm, that's what happen when my friend was trying to match DK2, I thought that was just his Wii... maybe it's because of update Wii 3.4, I think that's messing up the game play on Wifi.

idk, a couple people were saying its prolly all the christmas wiis overloading the servers, either way i havent been able to get "with friends" working since thursday, bad timing prolly doesn't help either
