Basically I've pretty much got them down,
for those who don't know how they work:
It's generally jumping out of your shield to shine, but doing it fast enough to not leave the ground then jump-canceling this shine also.

I thinkk its one of the fastest moves falco can do out of shield (maybe besides an upsmash or spotdodge. Not sure about grabs too but I think it's faster.. someone clear that up >_>)

I know this is incredibly useful in falco dittos, against a pillar-pressuring falco, a JCShieldShine can really **** them up before they can l-cancel and shine themselves.
Also I find it's much less predictable than spotdodging the pillar and shining.
This also applys to CF players who are dair happy, im pretty sure the shine hitbox will come out faster, and intercept their dair.

If you play against slower characters too like Samus, this can really mess her up when she's all up close, but tbh if shes a good Samus she shouldn't be close without a missile first.
Luckily she likes to shield pressure then approach, so JCSS sorts her out too ^__^

What I want to know is other applications of it against fox or marth, where there seems so be very little gap to use their lag to your own advantage.
Fox's shine will be faster from his nair, and marth's fairs are too far from his body to even bother.. are there any other wider uses I can get from this, or is it just a situational technique against certain characters..

situational,
faster than just about everthing cause youve got two shines out (at least) in only a few frames...
the upsmash (jc or not) is nowere near as quick....
this is flash to the upmost, but uses are fairly restricted giving it the "situational" title

@ captain

It's alot more useful than you'd think, but as for 2 shines? Have you fully understood the technique lol

Use it when a shieldgrab isn't practical, or when a shine will provide more follow-up opportunites than a throw can. It's useful if they make any sort of mistake that will give them some attack lag, then you can JC shine out of shield, and start a combo from there, if possible. If they're already at a fairly high percentage (~90% or higher), then JC shine to bair will usually set up for a nice edgeguarding opportunity.

i understand the tech,
but in terms of speed, you can jc a shield, shine, multi shine... before the upsmash even ends.. wich is wat i was tryin to get at...
i understand the tech and know the uses...
but im still sayin its not a tech that should be used all the time, perhaps not even once a match...

6 Airborne, Shine land, Hitlag

So jc shine out of shield takes 6 frames, and then you have like 4 frames or something of hitlag after it (scotu!!!!??). Shieldgrab comes out on frame 6, so it is just as fast as a shieldgrab. I'm not quite sure how the invincibility on frame one works, but I think if shine and grab came out at the same time, since you're invincible, you can't be grabbed, and thus the shine hits the grabber. In every other situation, however, grab always has more priority than any other move.

So if you get grabbed (like I dunno, by a falco doing shine->jc grab I think (again, if scotu could clarify this, that would be awesome) the shine would hit and the grab wouldn't connect.

awesome i really needed someone like scotu to come in here and fix this with frame data

basically it's just more of a setup for falco than a grab would be. obviously leading to combos that most of his throws lack to do at certain percents, if any

thanks doooooood
