Not if you're playing Jigglypuff. If Jigglypuff crouches and you dash into a JC grab, she can hit B and she'll pop up into a Rest to hit you, since your standing grab goes over her.

Also, sometimes you might want to dash grab just for the extra range. It's only three frames slower, although the dash grab animation is ten frames longer than the standing grab animation.

I usually us JC grabs. I don't think that brawl will be as technical as Melee but I still think that it will be competitive. It will still require mindgames, timing, and spacing.

I don't really like Brawl, from what I've seen. The recoveries are way too easy and a lot of the characters have lost their combo ability. Most of the characters that were good before got beaten with a nerf stick, too.

Really, it seems like all they did was make the slow attacks faster and the strong attacks weaker, so you're left with a mediocre pool of moves that have no difference other than sending your opponent away in different directions.

But we'll see, I guess.

I doubt L-cancel is out of the game. what would give them reason to do all these things?

but i would JC grabs with marth are always good, unless you are fighting jiggs

As far as I know, L-cancels are gone. They have... fastfall cancels or something, I think, which reduces the lag of the move if you do it while fastfalling, but I'm not sure about it. It'd throw off the rhythm, anyway.

The reason, I heard, they took out all the advanced techs is because it'd majorly lag the game when played online. JC multishines are a lot of inputs per second, and I doubt they could handle that.

JC grabs, i was coming here to say yes, but i guess the jiggs acception makes sense, so you dont get rested. (My characters dont have problems grabbing a crouching jiggs. XD)

As for brawl bashing.

as much as i hate to say this, cause i think brawl is gunna flop; i think you guys are f'n hilarious for completely bashing it right now.

Somebody did bring up a good point - look at melee years ago when it first came out.

Look at competitive melee years ago.

Looks dangeriously close to brawl.

I MEAN, IT'S NOT LIKE MELEE ISNT A 7 YEAR OLD GAME.

what'll be dumb is if melee gets completely dropped when brawl comes out, though.

Sadly, everyone I know will do this. I haven't played with Melee's advanced techniques long enough; I don't want to give it up just yet, and playing lvl 1 cpu's aren't fun.
