James McCloud was originally in melee, they took him out though because if you up-smashed with him and it missed, the melee disc would disintegrate.

That was not the problem. The real problem was if your upsmashed hit, you would go flying through your roof since it gave you real feedback, meaning you would feel him hitting you with his upsmash

There was no way not to feel the power of james's upsmash

apparently however, if you were to beat hit with james's up-smash, his foot hits from your crotch area to your jaw, Since you went into the air and not your character (your character is stunned for five seconds), you could actually get off to him up-smashing constantly.

They were called McCloudjobs
