Propitious Plumber
The Godfather of Soul, James Brown, was admitted to the Emory Crawford Long hospital in Atlanta on Saturday with a case of pneumonia and died in the early hours of Christmas morning.
James Brown left an indelible mark on the music of the 20th century and influenced countless other artists in rhythm-and-blues, soul, funk, hip hop and more.
He had a tour date coming up in my hometown and hailed himself to be the "hardest working man in the business"; continuing to perform and do charity work right up until last Friday (not to mention scheduled performances for New Year's Eve).
Here's one of many news stories for follow-up.
