Ivysuar=one of snakes top 3 matchups?

A few days back, I played this one Snake, he wasn't the best ever but he was decent. It was a special match so I was playing serious. I main IC's but I'm no good with them against snakes... So I tried TL (one of my 20 ONLINE secondaries) And I lost. Then I tried PT (another one of my online secondaries) I started out with Squirtle even thought I usually start out with charizard. I stocked him first. then he up tilted me soon after.

Once I got to Ivysuar (BTW we were playing on FD) he pulled out a grenade and I razorleafed twice...first he dropped the nade second hit the nade blew up on him, I was like O.o. He came down at me from the air and I just bullet seeded.

The point is I think that Ivysuar is really good agaisnt snake and I'd like to know what you guys think. I'm not saying that those are the only two moves that will work on him. But yeah, I mean just think about and I'm sure you'll see what I'm saying.

That Snake player needs to learn to get around such things. He probably never faced Ivysaur before. I mean, there are many characters that can make the grenade explode in the hand. Snake players should know about that and how dangerous it can be.

I would never approach Ivysaur from the air, due to obvious reasons, and I would never hold a grenade due to the danger of the razor leaf.

He didn't have much experience with such situations I guess. (explosions in hand and aerial counters)

I suppose your right, and I guess I didn't take that into consideration. I don't really play snakes that often and I'm basing this off of one game, but I'd like to try to take this alittle farther because I still belive this to be true, so If anyone would like to face me, my fc and all that other good stuff is in my sig but plz send me a PM before you add me

Weigh out the positives and negatives. Sure, you can kind of own his grenades if he isn't prepared, and you can catch him directly above you, but alot of his moves on the ground have great knockback and once you're off the edge, your tether recovery is pretty easy to take care of.

Ivysaur is really not a good matchup against anyone. I guess you could say he's a little better against snake just due to the fact that snakes gimping abilities are a little less than other characters i guess. But idk imo a skilled snake REALLY should not have any trouble v ivysaur.

I don't have much trouble against him, but to me he seems to do the best among the three pokemon.
