I've loved pokemon ever since it came out. Want to hear a story? Okay. I played blue version when it came out. It was my first video game.( I was 6) This is actualy what got me into video games. Anyways, I got every single pokemon to level 100 without cheating. I didn't stop there. I was young then and had so much love for my pokemon. Even though they were all at level 100 I took them to the Elite 4 every single day. I had 680.something hours on that game. I loved it so much. BUT, I went to my aunts house and my cousin wanted to play it. You know where this is going. But I told him no. (whew) "It's not over yet." He told our aunt thatI wouldn't let him play. My aunt for some reason made me let him use the game. "Oh no." I told him "PLEASE DON'T START A NEW GAME"!!!! And he said okay. He left the room, came back in 5 minutes and gave me the game telling me that it was a stupid game. So I just put it away and left to go home a couple hours later. I turn my game on and...MY GAME WAS DELETED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a save file on there with 0:05 gametime with a level 5 bulbasaur named Bubba! I must tell you. That broke my heart seeing that. I told my Aunt over the phone that he erased it. And she said don't worry about it, it's no big deal. I almost flipped out but I didn't luckily. I just couldn't believe it. Anyways, to this day, there is a saved file with a level 5 bulbasaur named Bubba.

Back in the olden days when parents could stone their kids for misbehaving, they behaved a lot better. Think about it.

This summer I went to my dad in and my little stepbrother wanted to play my Pokémon Ruby. I was training all my Pokémon, readying them for the transfer to Diamond/Pearl. He wanted to play and I said he could as long as he DIDN'T save it. If he saved it, I told him I would kill him. That kinda scared him but he still wanted to play. A few minutes later, he came to me and asked:'What is this?' I looked, and I saw the screen wich you see if you want to confirm your save. I was lucky that I made it in time and switched the power off. I told him he got lucky this time, but he wasn't allowed to use my DS anymore this holiday.

I made it in time, but I understand how dammed bad you should feel now HoH..

I started on red also.My friend had a save on gold with over 200 hours. He left it in his dad's truck as he went hunting. When they went back to the truck,it had been stolen along with several other items in the back if the truck.HAHA,he deserved it.But dude, what I do when this happens is get EVERYTHING back. When my game fried on megaman battle network 2 in which I had literally EVERYTHING and over 200 hours of gameplay,I got it back. When my little brother played and erased THAT file,I got it all back. When i got bored,I erased the file and got it ALL back. But the total of that is only about 300 hours, not close to 180.

Never give them any sympathy. You told them not to start a new game, and there isn't much excuse for being technoligy illiterate these days. Obviously selecting "New Game" is going to start a new game.

dont play it around little kids. ever. it only leads to trouble.

Hide it, smack them upside the head, whatever. Kids are bad news period.

My blue had a perfect game on it, but it glitched on me and when I turned it on, data was erased, no one did it. Then I bought gold, I was amazing at that, all legendaries, pokemon in team, 80's and up, I lost that one. Now I got crystal and Im doing fine so far. I learned to accept it and now I use my blue to put starters on my others.

my brother had a copy of blue, and me a copy of red. i asked him to start a new game so that i could get another starting pokemon, squirtle, on my team. So i traded him a crappy Slowpoke and I got my Squirtle. Needless to say, there was a problem. We didnt realize the new game would save, erasing his hard earned data. He bawled like a baby, but finally he got over it, and got his Slowpoke to level 100. It was a tough time, but he got through it.

Wait...isn't this Pokemon Blue? You can just use the duplicate items glitch and get all your Pokemon to level 100 again.

I tried once, and duplocation by gsc methods dont work. Hell, gs method of cloning is even hard to do. But not in my fave ol' gold, I had like an army of feraligators. I had no sence of having a "best team until now" and I also Had tons of Noctowl but they were used as rare candy duplication. Oh well. Im still not sure how to do it in crystal. Can anyone give me the timing.

But its quite funny that when I was little and I had my blue, I was all like, Blastoice rules, And he basically got me through the game, every gym and ALL the elite four untill I found out that gary or whatever was also an opponant. He was like lvl 80. I was so close to one pokemoning the whole game.

On a quick note, this is my future crystal team With A couple moves I want on them

Arcanine- gonna give him crunch
aeodactyl
lapras
Venasaur
Snorlax- Shoul I give him cuse?
tyranitar- Probly with ancient power.

This is quite possibly the most depressing pkmn related thread I've read so far. I love my games, even the ones I don't play anymore... and if somebody erased my game now with my Milotic and all the other pkmn I spent way to long to train you might just hear about a mass murder in the St. Catharines region the day after. The whole city would pay!... or at least the arse mongrel the deleted the game. May god be with all of you who have suffered such tragedies.

If a little kid should ever want to play your pokemon game, then distract them with Smash. At least it's a little harder to erase the data with that game and it's easier to moniter them because it's on TV. If they still want to play the game, then hide it and deny its existence when the stupid parents come. If that still doesn't work, hit the little booger.

I haven't played the old versions in a while cause they are slow. I play them in Dodrio Tower. When my little stepbrother see my Game Boy in the sofa, he says: "Voy a jugar GB"/I'm going to play. I say: "No!, el juego es PKMN y tu no sabes leer"/No, it's a PKMN game and you can't read! He speaks spanish cause we are from PR. But he knows how to behave. He knows that when I say NO, it's just NO.

And my Blue version is screwed! It doesn't work anymore since long time ago. It gone through all sort of places, beach, pool, and a lot of falls... T.T

Three, thats how many times my smash data has been erased. Hmm lets make a list.

EDIT: added some more (I say it like its a good thing...)

Me

Diablo 2: characters deleted/hacked
Chrono trigger: restarted numerous amounts of times, dunno why but it wasent my choice
poke Blue: restarted by itself
poke Gold: lost it
Chrono cross: it took forever to get to the end, but then memory got corrupted and I had to restart.
FF7: this one was a close call, for some reason, PS1 wasent working well. Got my friend's later on.
Pokemon snap (surprizingly fun): deleted once, restarted on my own later
Grandia- almost to the end, friend wanted it back, when i got it back again, file was gone.

People I know

Ruby: not mine but my friend lost it and then bought fire red. He spazed when he found it in his sleeping bag. Then his fire red got restarted. He said he didnt do it either.

There are probably many others but I probably forgot. I guess the second time around is easier.

Plus Smash data can be saved to multiple memory cards. So you can have a backup. I lost my data and had to use a friends. Now I have data on three memory cards.

I would've monitored his playing just to make sure he didn't save and the moment he tried, I would snatch the game turn it off and give it back just so he doesn't mess it up. On another story these 2 boys came to our house and played our SSB64 and deleted all the new characters, no big just earned them back(would've been easier with jigglypuff)

Never loan little carts to your friends if they pay no heed to someone else's property. I had Crystal from my friend to play since he didn't want. It was practically mine, I was attached to those pokes like little babies. Then my friend wanted to play it, so I loaned it to her but when some good time had passed and I asked it back, she has lost it somehow and I bet she didn't even try to look properly. :/ That has been about 3-4 years ago, but it's still not nice to lose something that's someone elses, especially when it was quite important to me, not that she would understand anyway. I had at least ten 100 lv. pokes, some 70, more 60 and a bit of 50 lv, but in overall a very nice varitety of them. I especially missed my Mewtwo and Starmie, not to mention Umbreon twins (almost identical stats) and my Tyranitar. .__. Kicked some *** with those on Stadium 2 too.
