That's a nice signature. I have a suggestion though; Perhaps you should make the Background a Yellow/Blue color rather then Green? (mainly to just give him that color theme of Blue and Yellow in his game series). I can understand you put in Green to make Issac more visible, but if you put in a Yellow or Blue Background that does not match the colors that Issac has on, then it shouldn't be a problem.

I was thinking of a lot of colors before, it just looked like Green fit more.

That's Jenna. I'm pretty sure this takes place in the beginning of the game. Plus Mia doesn't wear those clothes.

Interestingly enough though, in the Beta/early development of Golden Sun, Mia was actually from Vale and started the game off with Isaac and Garret.

Mudshipping was canon during development before they transferred Mia to Imil, and created Jenna in Vale? I already knew about Mia being from Vale but we will never know whether Jenna would have been in Imil then or someone else entirely.

Another fun fact:
Alex was probably meant to be playable in Golden Sun: The Lost Age as you can find another version of his character portrait in the game data along with the other playable cast. Piers was added later and Alex remained mysterious. This is kind of hinted towards when Alex feints hurt when he says that Felix and party found another water adept (Piers) to replace him (Alex).

Wonder what direction the ending would have taken then. Would Alex have abandoned us near the end before giving us a 7 man party or would there be someone else in his stead, or no one altogether?

I'm not sure. Perhaps it would've been a 7-man party, or perhaps he fought alongside you and betrayed you AFTER the final battle.

Alex is probably the most mysterious character in the entire Golden Sun series. I would also have loved to fight him at some point, but unfortunately, that never happened, all we know, is that Alex is a pretty powerful Adept.

Also, what moves do you guys think Alex would have if the was a boss? I would say Ice Missile, Freeze Prism, Deluge, Froth Spiral, Well/Pure Ply, Well/Pure Wish, Diamond Berg and the geyser move (probably would have been his signature move).

Just because Mia was from Vale doesn't mean she and Isaac were a canon couple.

Well Jenna didn't even exist to be honest at that moment. And I am just going by the train of thought Mia would have replaced Jenna in every subsequent encounter. Which would have made her Felix's sister and by extension part of the main party in TLA.

It got changed quickly so it doesn't really even matter though.

Well giving Alex moves that regular Water adepts can learn would sorta cheapen the boss battle in my opinion. Considering he has transcended power that regular adepts can possess (except perhaps one other person and the Wise One), as well his new gained control over other elements, he should have moves that can not normally be learned by us.

Or atleast extremely high level moves. And there is also the fact whether he would have a weapon or not? He should definitely have a healing move though

Crono, the protagonist of one of the best (and my second favourite) JRPGs ever has a mom though

(Yes I know you said most)

Isaac in many of these comics is usually derpy or just not protagonist-y while a lot of them make Garet look like a genius xD

If you were to live in one of the cities/towns in Golden Sun, where would you live?

For me, it's Imil, during Dark Dawn. Given it's proximity to the Mercury Lighthouse, it probably survived the changes of the world.

It probably also weathered the Eclipse intact because of the aforesaid proximity as well.

Sign me up as a supporter. Really enjoying this game, and it seems like Isaac could potentially have a very interesting moveset.
Really the only thing that sets me against him a little is that Robin is already a spellsword character kinda like Isaac, but I feel like he could be very different from Robin.

While I've checked out plenty of full manga stories, I've never really followed the 4-Koma format before (for one thing, I can't read them, so I'm dependent on specific ones getting translated and linked to me). So I have to ask: Is it usual for new games to get this sort of coverage? This is an awful lot of comics, from a host of different artists. I know these all came out around the time of the first game, but it would seem to me to give lie to the claim that the series was unpopular in Japan. I know a lot of people here have said that it's more popular over there than the detractors claim. But I think this is some solid evidence in that regard.

Hopefully we'll get a lot of new ones when Golden Sun IV releases! :happysheep:

I also give Garet's the cursed equipment, however, I give him Muramasa instead of Wicked Mace since it has a better unleash xD.

And by the end of The Lost Age, my Garet usually has Dark Sword.

Well it was the first game that got the comics while the second game did not. The 4-koma Gag Battle based on the events of Golden Sun 1 came out as part of the "the Hi no Tama Game Comic Series" published by Kobunsha.

And a fact that is unknown to many fans of Dark Dawn. An official V-Jump Manga was released in Japan alongside the game for promotional purposes as part of a package called "Golden Sun: Dark Dawn - Adept's Navigation Guide". It was a manga about the events till Matthew, Karis and Tyrell leave Isaac's cottage.

Although it does differ from actual events of the game somewhat. Matthew has a speaking role, Garet is missing with Isaac taking some parts of his role and the battle with Tangle Bloom differing somewhat. Isaac rescues Tyrell first but gets injured by the weakling boss (seriously?!). The 3 young adepts battle it out with Matthew (obviously) dealing the final blow with Flint.

It ends when Matthew's party leaves with Flint coming along.

Actually the Wicked Mace has a better unleash in retrospect. Muramasa's unleash only deals poison but the Wicked Mace's unleash deals the much more potent Venom status. The unleash damage does not differ that greatly, neither do the attack stats by a decent margin. Too lazy to show a statistical difference between the two.

By the end of TLA, every single warrior of mine has RNG abused equipment

Garet has an Excalibur.

A lot of game releases in Japan come with additional material like manga and illustration collections. The Zelda series consistently has had mangas with every game, Splatoon also had a manga to go with the recent Squid Girl cross promotion.

Japan has a large doujin scene, so having a fan-comic collection like this wouldn't be that strange there. The artists can even make money from it without being sued, unlike the West.

Exactly. Since Golden Sun: Dark Dawn was pretty much hyped up by even Nintendo, it was pretty obvious that it got a short manga of its own. It is just that DD failed to sell as much as they expected.

Sadly the artists who wrote the 4-koma for Golden Sun 1 didn't come back to write for Golden Sun 2. Would have been great to see the extended cast at their antics.

I doubt Felix would have been as derpy as Isaac is in these comics. Although there is a scene in the game where he is indeed funny xD

He steps into the waterfall all nonchalantly like Mia did. And this is what happens ^^

Well, when that does happen, I actually have something that will (hopefully) entertain everyone here. Don't know if anyone remembers the fan-site, GS: Adept's Refuge. I used to love visiting that site before it disappeared (Just found out a few days ago that it has returned). One of my favorite things they had was called, "Ask Issac". A fun fan script theme where you can take any Nintendo character (Including GS characters) and you make Isaac asks 3 questions to the character. Then you make up the scenario. It's been over 10 years since those were published. I can't find them anywhere. Fortunately, I printed them before the website disappeared 10 years ago. Yeah, I enjoyed them a lot as well as my old friends who loved GS. If anyone is interested, I can put up the first Interview. :D
