Is there any negatives to Kirby?

I've been playing Kirby since Melee where he wasn't great. But now in Brawl he awesome. But my question is there any down side for Brawl Kirby? Like, I know he light but what else is there he isn't so great at?
Personally, he was my second-most used character both in Brawl and in Melee. I thought Kirby was excellent in Melee, too, but that might be just me.

Ever wonder how people land Bowser Fsmashes? It's because they can bait people into situations or find a good situation to use it. A good example of this would be a Falco recovering with Phantasm, not sweet spotting the edge. You set up the proper distance, hammer and you most likely get a KO if he's at decent %.
recovery is different, don't compare something like falco's recovery to kirby. i am fulyl aware that this is brawl so punishment is much, much lessened than in like any other game and therefore you can probably spam hammer and still last 3-4 minutes (and possibly remove a stock from the opponent) but hammer is still a bad move, it is slow, and it still has no range, and it is laggy. do you ever see someone bowser f-smash someone in high level play? no. of course not. just because this works against ******** people and online doesn't mean you'll hit a good player with it ever, no matter if they're in range for it. honestly if i see a kirby and i know anything about kirby and this kirby happens to be particularly close to me, i'm most certainly not going to stand there and let it smack me with one of its stupid no-range moves i'm probably going to roll or walk away from it and resume spacing or run to the other side and shoot it repeatedly. or, if i'm meta, i'll opt to do anything i want because kirby won't be able to punish it. at all. under any circumstance. unless, of course, my spacing is hideously bad and i forget what "d-tilt" or "grab" are.

Seriously, do you have Melee dash attack and Brawl's mixed up? Melee's was easily punishable because there was pretty much no knockback. Brawl traps you in for most of the hits and then good players can't get out of the last hit. There's barely enough time to be punished, the Kirby has to be very slow to just sit there.
so you're saying that if people adamantly refuse to smash di it's a good move? cool. even if you do launch them or you somehow hit their shield or whatever with it (assuming you get close enough to do it; you've got no range, remember?) and aren't horribly punished it's still just 11% or 8% or whatever it is. there's no follow-through, it has no killing power, it's a balanced move i guess but balance means like nothing in this game where you have snake, gaw, meta, rob and the other esteemed members of high/top tier ****** kirby for not being broken. on that note, melee's dash attack was bad because of cc, no range, slow, no priority, no knockback. in brawl, it's bad because of no range, no follow, no knockback, and it can be DIed out of.

I'll say confidently that the only times I've died at 90% is from an Ike or Ganon. It's not that hard to play it safely once you get up in high percentages, and yes, we have light weight. That's why you adapt your play style at that point.
again, how do you adapt to someone camping you hardcore (sometimes with projectiles) and doing nothing but spacing attacks that outrange you by like your whole body. marth, gaw, meta, snake, etc. i exaggerate on 90% it's really more like 110 but in this game that's still pretty early so w/e. it's not metaknight bad but honestly it's not far from it. and snake's u-tilt does kill you pretty early and it's spammable because it beats like everything you do.

Okay, you have a point on MK. The throw combos don't do ---- against him. But on Snake, you've got to be joking me. He's one of the heavies that can be throw combo'd easily. You can pull off a full Gonzo combo or change the Fsmash to Fair/hammer if he jumps.
fair point on snake, but let's face it. snake still eviscerates kirby.

@ person above me: kirby was awful in melee he was worse in melee than he was in brawl actually.
