Is there a way to "hug" the edge with heavier chars?

You should just be able to walk off the edge and hold back.

You should have no problems edgehogging with heavier characters. The only time you'll have to do something different is with Sonic. With him you just do a hadouken to edgehog.

Craptain Falcon sorta has a weird one too. Sometimes he just falls too fast.

I can't do an edge hug with bowser.
usually I just do a short hop to grab the edge with him.

Easiest character to hug with are the heavier characters, usually the ones that aren't like MEGA fast fallers.

Run off the stage, fast fall, and semi circle towards the stage in one quick motion. This can be done with every character, even characters like Sonic.

And for the record, Sonics Bair is not required to do this at all. It never was.

Yeah, run, fastfall and then slam control stick toward the stage. If you're Kirby, you can just run off and hold back. >.>
