Is the return of so many cut characters proof Sakurai realizes he shouldn't cut characters?

With both Mewtwo and Dr. Mario returning from Melee, Lucas and probably Wolf returning from Brawl, anyone else feel like Sakurai can't get away with cutting characters? Not to mention the uproar over the Ice Climbers being removed because of 3DS limitations.

It makes me believe Smash 5 on the next system will have virtually no cuts, because Sakurai is ALREADY bringing back at least 4 cut characters (and we know Ice Climbers will definitely return on the next game either way), that it makes it obvious cut characters is becoming a thing of the past.

The reason they're cut is most likely because of time constraints. Nothing you can do about that, which is why the next game will definitely have cuts as well.

On the other hand, making them DLC is one way to bring them back, because then they'll have time to finish the cut characters and profit from them.
