Is PM your main game?

I was reading a post by Prog on ask.fm and he made mention that PM isn't really anyone's main game. I feel like PM is my main game though and I was wondering how other people feel about it.

Prog is wrong on this one. PM is plenty of peoples main game. Including my own.

Yeah I've met plenty of people who main PM. Right now most of the top PM players main melee, but I'm sure that's going to change as PM is getting more popular and more people are devoting time to it.

You can't main Project M, he isn't an option on the character select screen. BUT, did you know that if you successfully shoot all the credits in Classic Mode with every character on every difficulty 50 times and then unplug and replug your system while in the Wifi waiting room with 3 other people you'll unlock him?

Melee is pretty cool, it's a fun distraction. But it's not Project M.

I also main P:M. Melee was fun and all but it's had its day. This game is much newer and fresher and has a lot of great additions that I wouldn't want to give up.

I play whatever I can get my friends to play. Since Project M has more balance than Melee they can pick more characters than the "mains of melee." and do good enough to not ragequit in a few matches.

Though if I had Melee, I'd probably play it too. I try to play at least 2 Melee top-tiers in PM so that I can do well whenever I play Melee with others.

I main Melee. I have mixed feelings about Project M. Sure it's a cool mod of Brawl to make it seem like its own game and have players play it like Melee, but I don't really see it having an identity outside of being a mod for Brawl for the sole reason to make it more like Melee.

Yeah, Project M's my main game at current. Having the cast and content of Brawl + the core game play of Melee is too much of an incentive. It'll probably remain my main game unless something amazing happens with Smash 4's roster or game play or the team moves on to Project M For Wii U Edition.

I first started with Brawl, and so I've been totally spoiled with having X as my grab button for some years now. I tried playing melee a little bit and the muscle memory is just too strong :/ also I feel like I don't have the wherewithal to be solid in multiple games. Oh well. So much love for melee though.

As multiple people said, Project M is my main as well, simply because it's game-play feels just more refined. It was good in Melee, but Project M feels like a huge improvement

PM's my main game. Never use or have used Brawl for vBrawl, and I gave my Melee disc to a friend a while ago.

PM's got plenty of tournament presence now, and I think it's well beyond the 'it's just a mod' stage of its life. It is competitive Brawl.

Definitely. Well when you make it to Apex, and you are one the biggest events there, yeah it is pretty important!

Considering my mains in PM are my Melee mains, I guess that would imply that Melee is my main. However, I play both games for roughly the same amounts of time nowadays.

I main PM, though the local group has suggested I get into Melee if at least to work on some more tactical aspects alongside developing muscle memory and... uhh... tedious stuff like that...

I decided I'll use Link in Melee, which is the closest I can see to my usual playstyle outside of the rediculously sensitive (spacies, Falcon, Shiek) or "popular" mains (Marth...and those sensitive ones ). Still feels notably different from my using Pit, ZSS, and Charizard...

If you can space well and perform your AT's smoothly, it should be pretty much the same. Only thing i've read is that there are a couple frame differences on some moves.

edit* It also depends on your character. If you main a melee in pm, then you will have it easier than having to learn a another character.
