Ugh, that's th reaosn I never bought a DS. The whole double screen thingy. Rather than have a regular screen, let's just put two that each show half.

You could use the X and Y buttons to jump. On topic, Smash will not end until there are no new Nintendo systems. There will continue to be new Nintendo systems until Nintendo goes out of business. Look at the competition: The PS3 which is too expensive for people to consider buying and the 360 which wouldn't survive if they didn't make another Halo. Unless another company pops out and puts Nintendo out of business, Nintendo should be safe.

I think that unless they make a new console, there will be no more smash bros. Well, look at it this way: melee gave us about 7 years of playing time, and if brawl is as good as it looks, it should last us at least a decade.

Super Smash Galaxy ftw!

But yeah, this is supposedly Sakurai's last smash game. And if that is true and he wasn't just pulling our leg, then I hope that marks the end of the smash series because I don't think any other creator, other than Miyamoto himself can ever do the series justice without Sakurai.

If they do decide to keep it going with Sakurai leading it then I'll be looking forward to a handheld version with online capabilities. Maybe on Nintendo's next handheld console?

As for right now, I'm sure Brawl is going to last us a good 10 years. Melee lasted a long while and with all the things being added into Brawl, it's looking like it's going to go even longer.

I doubt it. I, mean why would be the last one? It's super successful, super popular, and super awesome. It wouldn't make sense to stop making it. Even if the next ones just added a few new characters, a few new stages and items, and a few new features, I bet everyone would still buy them.

Well hey, look at FF, they are on number XIII (13) right now but that's due to it's popularity. My friend who has never shown and interest in games now checks the Dojo every day because of how great the SSB series has become. Needless to say, if it keep it up in popularity, when the next Nintendo system comes out there will be a Super Smash Bros. for that too.
Just like I said earlier.

Brawl is definitely my last smash game. I plan on keeping up on the community over these next years, but if Brawl outlasts Melee, I'm gonna be so old. When Brawl reaches seven years, I will be thirty. >_<

That would be a strong attack, not a smash attack. "Smash" comes from smashing the control stick. It has to do with the speed you smash it. It can't tell the speed you press down a button.
Forward+AB.....the sideways WiiMote has this scheme for smash attacks....why not the DS?

Anyway, they're not planning or even thinking about a DS game right now...so let that idea go for now...

NOO!! It's not the last!!!! Meowth NEEDS TO BE PLAYABLE SOMEWHERE!!!

:052: = God
Meowh is always playable...in your dreams.

Anyway yea I agreed on them needing a Smash Bros DS, but my Ds got stolen so I could care less now. I do believe this is the last ssb game. Sakurai said he already didn't like sequels.

It would be awsome if they made super smash bros. ds
Someone wrote a whole essay on how that wouldn't work, and it was basically accurate..

I wanted it, also, though :(
I doubt Brawl will be the last Smash, Nintendo will keep making new systems, no matter how long it takes, until Microsoft buys them out.

Probably, but I doubt Sakurai will be with them on the next one. He already left HAL, but, he might join back just to make another one. To be thinking about the next generation system is a little too ahead now.

In your head.
Nope, I doubt Brawl would be the last Smash. Sales-wise if it's good = why not make more? If it's bad = well common sense says don't make more.

even if it had the highest sales it doesn't always means sequel. did you even read why sakurai left HAL? that was the exact reason.

Here, I even felt nice to post the quote.

"It was tough for me to see that every time I made a new game, people automatically assumed that a sequel was coming," said Masahiro Sakurai on August 26, 2003, in an interview with Nintendo Dream, two weeks after his resignation from HAL Laboratory. "Even if it's a sequel, lots of people have to give their all to make a game, but some people think the sequel process happens naturally."

I think there might be a few more smash games after brawl, probably without Sakurai though. And I suspect they will become less popular than the others, if not fail alltogether. Eventually causing nintendo to dig the grave for the series. Or cause that one last revival by having Sakurai remake brawl 10 years from now with bonuses ; P
