Internet nostalgia

For old times' sake, I decided I'd search around for my earliest Internet activities. Lo and behold, I stumbled upon Smashboards, one of my first forums, on which I registered in 2002.

Reading through my old posts is quite amusing, if not even a little embarrassing, seeing my horribly naïve prepubescent mind expressed through matching English skills.

I just found out that I used to PM links to FunnyJunk.com and other completely mindless humour sites to various supermods and admins, as my own silly way of 'giving thanks' to their running the forum. Most notably to "MK", a supermod at the time. Wonder if he's still around... :x

Got any early Internet moments of your own to share?

Cool to see someone return after years! It happens at least a couple times a year on smashboards.

I remember way back when I was 10 or 11 or 12, I was co-webmaster of a pokemon website hosted on GeoCities. I think the site disappeared a while ago. I searched for one of the other webmasters recently using his old AIM handle and 3 or 4 results came up (pokemon related) but nothing concrete. I don't think any of the really old sites I used to go to are around anymore!

I didnt go to alot of sites in my early years, but I do remember I went to a Swedish site around 2001/2002 to somewhere around 2005 which involved the act of playing games.
Its still around today, and runs pretty good.

Lol I remember my old account there got deleted, so I had to make a new one. Im pretty sure my latest account is removed too, which was made YEARS ago.

Another worth-to-mention site I went to was a Pokemon site/forum site called Mews Hangout, who suddenly disappeared in 2006. The owner of the site said everything got deleted, and there was no way to restore it. :/

I was a pretty known Pokemon sprite contest-maker there, made a set of 9 complete ones. I worked on my 10th when the site shut down.

This is actually my first and only forum that I ever go too. But it would be cool going back to a forum you haven't been to for awhile

And what on earth is that thing in your sig?

Fo(u?)r score and (about) seven years ago, I used to play a lot of Diablo II and Warcraft III... sure enough, I learned how stuff goes boom and how rude people can sometimes get.

I believe it's called "Bunchies", an ancient gif from the depths of the Internet.

I hadn't actually seen it in a while myself, until I just posted.
lol, well it's probably one of the happiest creatures I've ever seen

I haven't cleared my sent box in my email ever. It's fun looking back at stuff from 2 years ago and laughing at myself.
