In the picture topic I posted a picture of myself from Zimbabwe. I started to think that a lot of the Smash community must have some interesting pictures/stories of a place they've been. So if you have any interesting stories, just post them in here. I guess I'll start off with a story or two and then give you some pictures.
One of the first things I noticed when I was there was the state of the country. This country is really in a sad state right now. It used to be known as the breadbasket of Africa, but the president/dictator over there (Mugabe) has run the country into the ground. Their money has an expiration date on it (so I s'pose its technically not money). It cost $400,000 Zim dollars for a hamburger and fries.
The people over there are all very friendly. If you stop, you'll be surrounded by 30 or 40 giggling Zimbabwe children who just KNOW you've got some candy in your backpack. So anyway, post your own stories and ask me questions about my story if you want.
Here are a lot of the Zim children running out to meet us. They were very excited. This was one of the rural areas we were in, so a great deal of them had never had visitors. They were a bit spooked by us at first, but they were very loving.
They sure do like that camera..
And last of all, here is me.
