Hmmmm. Looks like you were trying to inhale during a roll, but his invincibility frames wouldn't let you inhale him... but, the inhale "momentum" still took affect and pulled him off the edge. I'm not sure if he could have recovered there or if some lag from the roll prevented it. Interesting, nonetheless.

The lag was none existent. At least for me. It seems like when you short hop inhale, and your opponent is directly underneath you, this seems to work. Wolf falls victim to this technque badly, since his recovery isnt so good, and he actually has to be touching the ledge, since his grasp range really sucks.

Hahaha, I love glitchy Inhales.
Good find, it does seem to be that the momentum from either the move or roll pulled him off the edge.
I think afterwards he couldn't react fast enough due to shock, but he at least attempted to recover.

I've done this with Ness's down-b too on someone who was shield-rolling. Ness's down-b has a push-away effect when it is released.

The physics behind Inhale are interesting. Basically we all know what its like to get smashed at high damage and even when we tech we keep moving in the direction we were hit. A good example of this wasn in melee when u teched against a wall and then tried to run but it looked like u were running against the force of the smash.

Basically Inhale performs the same physics but within a certain area that loses power exponentially as u go away from Kirby. So what does this mean. This means that if a character hits kirby or rolls close behind Kirby while Kirby uses neutral B they feel the same effect as if they were smashed except the distance they move does not change by their damage and they are free to use any move while they are flying away.

We might think well what if we use inhale close to someone. We all know this results in Kirby sucking up the opponent b/c Inhale has startup lag were it goes from weak inhaling force to strong.

Is it possible to utilize this technique in someway? A simple but extremely difficult experiment would be to get hit by Marth's or some incredibly fast upB move while using Neutral B. Marth would have to upB towards Kirby for this to work.

Basic idea Y is Math and upB's towards x (Kirby) who is using Neutral B i think this would b a good test to c if this glitch is usable

Ok, in your scenario Gonzo, are you suggesting that Kirby's Inhale will influence Marth's Up-B enough to pull him off the edge?

Also, I remember reading a while ago that someone claimed Kirby had SA frames on his inhale, but it was never proven... anybody know about this?

Its the same "super armor" you get when you grab someone at the same time they are attacking you. Only works if they are put into the tumbling animation that pulls them into kirbys mouth at the same moment they try to attack.

By that, you mean Kirby still takes the damage but inhales his opponent?

Meaning, in Gonzo's scenario, if you are sitting on the platform inhaling, and Marth Up-B's to you, one of two things will happen: you will take damage from the attack but inhale Marth, or Marth will just hit you. Correct?

negative, remember that for a short period of time b4 Kirby will suck u up ur opponent can still use a move so i believe there are three possibilities for my situation. One Kirby takes the hit, two Kirby takes the hit and sucks Marth up, Three Kirby takes the hit but Marth goes flying. Its the same situation as Ike all the those three can happen depending on how far away Ike is away from u when he charges forward B if ur very close he just gets sucked up, if ur far away he gets sucked up, if ur in the middle Kirby takes the hit but Ike goes flying. This is the situation i'm trying to recreate except for a character other than Ike.

I'm trying to re create that situation, I think I may know how to do it consistenly, as long as your opponent is directly below you and you short hop inhale at a particular point. It's seems worthwhile if you can gimp your opponent that easily. And its very shocking to your opponent, cause they wouldnt know Kirby could do that. I bet my opponent was like... WTF happened? lol.

I think the basic idea is that marth gets affected by the momentum of the suck but he hits kirby away causing kirby to not suck him up. since marth is still affected by the momentum he goes flying

SO it really works??? Thats amazing imagine now if Marth is trying to recover and u do that, it would gimp his recovery so easily. think off other characters like Falco and Wolf, i'm gonna try and c how it works

I remember doing this to an airdodging Mario at Castle Siege's first area. He didn't go off the screen, but he went a short distance over the pit on the right before he started falling. The guy realized too late, tried to recover, and got caught under the lip.

I don't understand how you'll be able to gimp Marth's recovery with that. I wasnt really talking about gimping recovery. I was talking about how you can inhale them without your opponent going in Kirby's mouth.

Maybe this glitch is similar to G&W's up air, when it pushes u vertically even though its not touching you. Maybe its the same effect but horizontally when Kirby inhales...idk...just a thought:)
