[About?]

This video has been in the works for the past 6 months. You can believe how much effort it took to make this video happen. Whether it was going to smash fests, or even holding them, the dedication and effort to make this video was always there. The process also involved my project files going corrupt, deep into my editing process. Yeah, my computer pretty much *** ***** me.

Thanks go out to Painted Ghost, Eugene, Distructo, Stos, Phoenix, Holy & Minus for ****** me, Gi for helping us host a great Brawl+ tournament, the Toronto/Niagara smash scene, and the Brawl+ online community.

This video contains the 4.1 Plussery and several nightly builds, and also several 4.2 nightly builds. Both Roy and Marth were used in the video.

To be honest, the editing process only took 2 sleepless nights, which was only about 5%(?) of the whole process. Gathering the clips took a lot longer T_T.

The Brawl+ people aren't going to SNES, but I think King Ace, Silver Doc, Pho and Ambrose are going. Too bad these guy mainly play vBrawl.

However, why are damage % cut off? Is it different in HD (my computer can only use SD), or did you just want more focus on the characters?

When I pan/crop the footage to make it widescreen, it ends up cutting a bit of the top and bottom off. It's just something we have to live through if you want widescreen, or else it would be standard 4:3 standard ratio. That just doesn't look good, seeing the space Youtube gives us in terms of screen size.

Thats actually what i didn't like about it. I like to see if the other player dies or not... haha

I liked the editting and whatnot, but still not a fan of brawl plus. Some of those highlights look like what brawl would be if 8 year olds textured it, especially the clips from that one battlefield map - way too hard to tell whats going on when pikachu has a crazy texture and just looks like a glob on a rainbow background.

Cool vid. The edge-grabbing game in Brawl+ looks so much better and more skill-reliant. Also is thunder like not air-dodgeable in brawl+? haha

I agree 100%. Widescreen has much better quality and looks much better than the standard 4:3. I appreciate the clarification and will probably use the same technique if I ever make a combo vid.

I forgot to mention one thing I really liked about it - You kept the in-game sounds. A FALCOON PAWNCH is much more epic with the sound.

What made this video good, at least in my opinion, is that it contained few filler clips. A vast majority of the video were actually sustained combos or something interesting/surprising.

That is what happens when you collect 6 months worth of footage. If people can supply me with clips of a major tourney, I'd be happy to make a video. Just don't expect something like this, unless you record every match of every person playing on top of their game.

I personally felt like some clips could of used more climatic editting at the high points of the song.

Like there is a beast combo happening, the song is hyping up towards a climax, you can see the epic coming, and the song aids in this realization.

And then the editting falls flat and completely ruins the feeling (or at least heavily damages) the excitement that should of just made you **** in your pants.

That **** happened consistantly throughout the video and it kinda pulled away. I sat forward in my chair with my mouth open going "o **** o **** o **** o **** o ****!" and the the epic happens, the music hits the climax, but the editting doesn't match and I kinda just feel my excitment still built up but not release and I have to drop it.

Maybe its just me.

I think a good reference would be Untouchable by Critical2Touch. Even though is Brawl, the constant successful hype moments make the movie feel that much climatic, faster, and energetic.

Looks amazing from the first few seconds (I'm on dialup atm so I can't watch much of it, even on low quality). When are you going to put up the download? Looks like watching it in HD seems like the best way to go, youtube doesn't allow resumable downloads and it looks like it's around 200MB, too much even with a high speed connection.
