In 64, we had polygon team, in melee? Wireframes. but what of Brawl's faceless foes?

Think about this one for a second folks.

I don't know about you, but I would love to hear about what our faceless foes will be in this game. Obviously, they chose the team based from the hard concept of the characters.

in 64 we had polygons, cause that was what they were roughly comprised of.

This one we had wire frames. These are the models that are in the game to test combat qualities. It's basically what creators use to make combat and other level based interactions playable without having to go through and use actual character models.

We all know what wireframes are.

but honestly, I can't figure out for the life of me what they could use instead of wireframes, as that is closest to being the characters without being them.

Then I thought of the next possible closest stage of creating the characters. I don't know the name of this process, but it is when the they add more texture to the wire frames in a solid color (like yellow or something)

I am still a firm believer that there should be a special melee involving fighting as wireframes.

Miis would be such a great Idea!...

no seriously, that's a good idea! (although the chances of it happening is very slim)

The Mii idea is indeed excellent - you could beat up trillions of "yourselves" or have them randomized - with, perhaps, a sort of prize or notice when you happen to annihilate a Wii that was randomized to become identical to your own Mii... The only problem I can think of is how it will be possible to have them fight, considering their construction is not suited for precise combat animation like those of the nasty wireframes.

Perhaps the Miis in Brawl will look more evil or otherwise unsettling to show that they are attacking their own creator... There are nice touches to be made here, and I hope the team takes the opportunities available.

nonono..... you see, charcter models are just like dolls, if you program them with the same animation as another character, youll see that character do an animation that character wouldnt normally do. for example, if you program samus' character model to do marios super upper cut thing, then yull see her move the same way mario would, for thats how it would be programmed.

also, rmember how the wire frames were clonedoff of captain and zelda? well the Miis can do the same given the proper existing character move set, so you can make the Miis move like pit if you so desired, i hope i explained it well enough..

I didn't communicate properly.
I see your point, but I meant that while the wireframes had humanoid, realistic models that allowed their hit boxes and animations to fit those of their progenitors (Falcon et al.) the Miis have a distinct shape and as such the animations they would follow would not fit, the hitboxes would have to be changed, their physionomy would not allow certain moves maybe...

Well maybe it will let your miis keep their facial features except just reshape them into the desired um... shape and stuff.

One of his attacks could be a freeze attack where he tortures you with a vid of Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 and makes you wait for years on end only releasing small things on his site.

but THIS time, he only updates on SATURDAYS!!!
