Okay, so It's been a couple of months since school started and I'm at a crossroad. I like playing smash, but if I get a girl friend that'll mean less time for smash.
Here's my problem:
I'm a senior at my school and I like a junior girl. I'm black, she's white but that doesn't worry me. We somewhat close and I want to ask her out. Here's the problems I faced with:
1. My parents might not accept that she's white
2. I don't know if she likes me like I do
3. Will I have time for her and smash
4.Do I want to have great education and be alone or have decent grades and be happy.
I'll want to ask her in november but it might be to late.
What the hell am I going to do?

1) Your parents should be able to accept your choice. I can't really give advice about biased parents since mine are pretty open in general. You might have to talk to them about it. =/

2) You won't really know until you ask. There's the possibility she's showing signs of liking you but you'd have to be able to read those.

3) Having a girlfriend doesn't mean every minute of spare time is dedicated to her. Smashfests/tourneys aren't a daily thing, but you can see her everyday. You can still do both.

4) Just manage your time and you can still keep your high grades. Work when you're not around her, or, if you're really behind, just tell her you need to study.

My ego...It's OVER 9000!
^This, I've had a similar problem, but I'm working on it right now.

Make sure you don't sell yourself to her with a love letter or something. It's always nice to try different girls and not just a single one. Cause if you fail, you'll have another chance to go for right away. Give us an update when ya feel like it.:falcon:

People always put a premium on their lack of perceived time in the future. If you want to find time to chill and play Smash competitively, you'll be able to do it. I managed to do it when I was working forty hours a week while having a live in girlfriend. Previously to that, I managed to do it while GMing a massive Ragnarok Online server, and a few other side projects.

Time is relative. If you want to make it happen you will.

In regards to your parents, you have to ask yourself if your passing infatuation with a girl is enough to bring your parents moral potential short comings to the forefront. If you believe it is worth it, then go for it. If not, then leave it in the closet and leave the girl alone.

1. Some parents are ridiculous. To be honest, this is one of those things thats hard to get around. Have your parents ever shown any discontent for you dating a white girl?

2. You can only ask.

3. GF's never really interfered with my smash goings. If she becomes your gf, if anything she should support your hobby. I mean, at most theres a tourney once a week, usually on a weekend. Heck, bring her.

4. Despite what people tell you, having a gf really doesn't distract you much from your grades. Its never harmed mine in the slightest, and I've never really seen a situation where it would.

Your parents should have no influence in your choice. If they complain, point out it is none of their business.

Don't know if she likes you? Welcome to the real world. Some will, some won't, and there's a few who will say yes just to see what you are like.

Learn time management. I am currently doing one of the hardest courses (veterinary medicine) at one of the best unis in the world. I have pretty much single digits worth of free hours a week. On top of this, I row, play badminton, play music with some guys and have to keep in contact with my now long distance girlfriend.. You have to learn to make use of your time. Don't waste it. Have some free time? Study, or do a productive hobby. Don't sit there doing nothing.
