My Wii fell while on was on a road trip...I can home, and my little cousin knocked it over. The fan is broke now, and the Wii overheats after an hour.

Last weekend my friend came over and we were so desperate for Brawl we stuck it near an open window...in upper Michigan, when it was -2 degrees out, and played all night.

Kicked his arse too. Gamey, I hope you see this.

But Now I don't what to do. I crave Brawl. I want to tinker with Pit for some reason...a weird urge. and I can't satisfy it. Any other cooling options? Good cooling stations? I really don't want to send it it....ARG! Why can't you transfer Brawl files!?!

Well -2 degress with an open window is not smart for two reasons;

For one, it's negative two degrees.
Secondly, you jerk a cord by accident and it falls out the window. Then you got bigger problems.

Honestly I'd just send it back.

thanks pal...though that fan looks interesting, if it were American...btw, we had a pillow underneath it in case it fell, which it did...several times.

Needless to say we were freezing sitting next to the window as not to jerk a cord playing 4 feet away from a 40 inch flat screen....

You DO know they sell cooling fans for the wii, right?

This = smart.

This = stupid imo.

While it may have worked well for you that one time, I'd suggest waiting until you get the cooling fan to play again. I'm sure playing your Wii in -2 degree weather isn't best thing for your system.

Then again, it's not a 360 lol.[/rrod]

Honestly, I'd send it in. I know you don't want to go without your Wii, and it certainly won't be fun, but the longer you wait the worse it can get. If you wait, its condition will likely become worse. If it's not under warranty, it'll become more expensive to fix, or you may have to replace it entirely. Chances are it's going to have to be sent in eventually anyways, why put it off?

You could probably replace the fan, but unless you have extensive knowledge in that area you could screw it up worse by trying, and it will void your warranty if you end up trying to replace it -- again, if you still have your warranty.

Where do you plug the gamecube memory card into a wii?

Can you save onto the SD Card?

I didn't know the wii was backwards compatible...(LOL)...

Actually, I truly was

I seriously didn't know it was backwards compatible...I always have just used my gamecube for gamecube games...I spent an hour one day searching for it to play Wind Waker.

It does just look lonely sitting on the shelf by itself.

Spire said Pit because the OP specifically said they had an urge to play as Pit.

Also, I'm fairly sure HouseofGaara was joking around.

well I live in butt **** nowhere, so cooling fan was not an option, and I'm currently lacking a credit card atm, so I settled for my local Walmart's Laptop cooling station. I have had Brawl running (4 npcs, 1level 9 tink with 3 level 4 ganons...haha poor link) for forty five minutes with no shutdown. It appears to be keeping cooler than before, but the setup is kinda rigged. I plugged it into the usb port and placed it next to the Wii's air vent with the broken fan. I'll let you know if this ghetto fix actually does work, because I guess this is a common problem in older Wiis (This is a launch Wii).

EDIT: yeah, things toast. Going to send it in :(

OH btw, no warranty, launch Wii.
