Anyway, about this hipster nonsense, I unknowingly avoid mainstream music. Everything I listen to, nobody has ever heard of. Hootie might ring a bell in some of your parents heads and Hoodie Allen is only recently becoming popular.

Mainstream/Popular/Indie/Underground rail road eff it man it is all MUSIC! The quality of the music relates solely to what YOU are looking for in that music. I personally think it is healthy to be musically diverse, but nonetheless people need to learn to stop bashing other peoples taste in music. My brother listens to lots of songs without any real depth or meaning to it, but that only bothers me because I listen to a lot of rap that is heavily lyric based. I like for my songs to tell a story or something, but he just wants to have a nice beat or something to pump him up. It does not make either of us wrong, just different.
I only hate Lady Gaga because of her image and how false it is. That reflects itself in her music as well, but even then it does not make her music bad or anything, it just makes me not respect her as an artist. Either way people need to learn to let others do their own thing when it comes to music.
