I hope the quick smash attacks will still exist for Brawl. It can prove to be a hassle if you must rely on button combos to execute certain moves.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't make a change so drastic as to require strings of buttons for certain "combos". Combos in Smash are, and hopefully will continue to be, very dynamic.

But this is kinda off topic. I'm sure a lot of people have the same problem with Melee. I don't even play HRC, Break the Targets, or Adventure simply because I can't use the C-Stick. After growing accustomed to using it for everything from Smashes to aerials, I just can't play without it. I would love to be able to enjoy single player mode from time to time. I don't see why they wouldn't address this problem with Brawl, though.

Yeah, I keep slipping up on Event Matches because I forget the C-Stick doesn't work. Hopefully with the customizable control scheme, this won't be a problem anymore.

Well obviously human competition is much more fun, but sometimes, when I'm bored, I would like to just play through adventure for the hell of it. But with the c-stick not being functional, I'll end up trying to short hop and aerial and nothing but a short hop happens. Then I remember the c-stick doesn't work in single player. It's more than just using it for smash attacks.

But anyway, with online play being introduced I probably won't be compelled to play single player that much. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I agree. Camera movement with the c-stick wasn't important, it should have the same function in single and multiplayer. Some aerials are hard to make just as fast without the c-stick like jumping backwards while fairing.

I don't really use the c-stick cause it's too far from the jump buttons and A works just as good, but there's still no reason the c-stick shouldn't serve the same purpose it does in multiplayer. I mean, if you want to change the camera angle, they should make it part of the pause screen or something. I don't know many people who change the view anyway.

People use the C-stick?

I always told all my friends that using the C-stick is the noob way of playing.

Now I think of it, it really is.
Hahahahahaha. Noob.

It's not like tapping the control stick and pressing A is hard. How is the C-stick nooby if it's barely easier than just doing a normal smash?

It's just a concept known as 'convenience'. Just use it.

actually its very easier to do a button + controller stick smash as you can very easily just reach the jump button with the side of your finger instead of pulling it back up to the jump button if you do a c smash

That would be nice

Course, I only use the C-Stick for crouch cancels, and I doubt I'll need those against generic enemies

Just rearange your favorite C-stick keys.

Sakurai says:

"This time, names are extremely important. That’s because we’ve included personalized button configurations. "

Sakurai keep emphasize about costumizing, I think they want us to play without any regret on it. I am sure they made the single players mode so hard , that we have to use the C-sticks.

Sakurai did his research, he do knows what we want.
Yoshi Up-B recover. Zelda can't transform anymore, those improvement is right connected to the C-stick allowence on single player mode.

I remember you; you were either anti-wavedashing or anti-advanced techniques in general. No wonder; you know nothing about this game and think you do. C-Stick aerials let you move around while doing them, and C-Stick smashes can give you those few extra frames. Both of these can make all the difference in any match where the players are any good at all.

What a noob.

Find where I said I'm anti-WD or techniques.

I still think pressing the C-stick is just a lazy way of playing, It takes no skill whatsoever.

Not that pressing A and moving the control stick takes skill.

Meh... I don't care, it doesn't go with my style of playing. Plus, I love to hold on my smash attacks. :p

Pluvia, do you go to tournies?

If not, some things are just so much easier with the cstick then without. Have you ever tried shffling upairs perfectly spaced and timed without the cstick? That junk is hard.

Also, I don't really care about the cstick in one player mode since the cpus will suck anyways.

Edit: We never got to play at that biweekly Myztek. =(

Sorry about that, Pluvia, you were just in a topic saying that wavedashing wasn't relevant to Brawl. Other posters there were against that.

My bad.

That has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. You must suck at melee. I'm convinced.

You can't SHFFL without using the C-stick otherwise you WILL mess up most of your SHFFLs especially dairs.

Try attacking after ledge hopping with a dair 50 times [with a character with a decent dair, like Samus] and do it with a 100% efficiency and show us the vid.

Actually, I don't get to see tournies at all. It's so sucky. :(

EDIT:

Red Exodus, who cares? I don't us the C-stick, I think it's nooby. You do. The End.

SHFFLing is one of the easiest to learn, if not the easiest, most important advanced tech in Melee.

I suck at melee, but at least I can do shffls most of the time.

Things that happen when you don't shffl:
You get lots of air, which means you are open to several attacks
You have lots of lag, which is extremely punishable
Your combos are slower and take longer to come together

Those are bad enough on their own.

Depends what you mean by "good," but if good means you are at least the average tourney goer then yes it is always needed. You just simply cannot win against people who do use this tech correctly (and are not completely horrible in the thinking part of this game).

Edit: do you know what shffl is? another thing, are you an Nsider? Tell the truth. (jk jk)
