I'm a little demoralized...

Picking up a new character is exciting and refreshing. So when I decided to pick up Inkling as a secondary main to back up my primary main, I was looking forward to it. But now after a week and a half, I'm rethinking my whole position in the game in general. Tonight, I created a 1v1 battle arena is smash ultimate, I felt that I had made leaps in my journey as a Squid master and as an Angel master, but then the match started and while I was doing good in the first few matches, I fell off a cliff in the proceeding matches and got bodied over and over again. I took a break after that and tried my luck again, this time i was against some guy name "Nani?!" . I remember because this guy is the cleanest Cloud Player I've ever seen and he totally dominated me, I only got 4 KO's against this guy in some ten matches, which was even more demoralizing. Am I really that much of a trash player? Maybe it's time to take a lengthy break from the game, horrible night.

I've played with and beaten Nani quite a few times (yes he has beaten me also).
I have a really good tip for you. Don't let it demoralize you. It took people like him and Venom : ) kicking my teeth in for me to actually learn my lessons and get good. You have to analyze why you are losing in those games and learn from it, otherwise you'll just be stuck in this same sad position.

Public Arenas is a good place to practice with new characters. It's when you have something worth fighting for that you might be warranted in feeling demoralized. Taking a break can help, but don't take one for too long. Not playing is a good way to not win. You're not trash, either. Reframe the words you use. You're not trash, you're just not where you'd like to be yet.

Failure and loss is always an obstacle to face at every turn. Never take them as meaning you are awful, take them as a possible lesson to help you get better in the future. When I originally started playing fighting games I faced defeat at every turn, I thought I was garbage at this genre and it just wasn't meant for me. But I continued to stand up and eventually I reached a point where I started winning against opponents that beat the snot out of me previously. Getting better isn't easy, I'm not gonna lie to you about it. But perseverance and determination will get you to where you want no matter the challenge.
