Is it a good idea to never log off from the boards?
I usually just keep my account open so I don't have to keep logging off then on, but does that put my computer at risk?

Just a quick, stupid, question I wanted to know...

Yeah, I never log off either. The only way someone would be able to abuse the fact that you're still logged on is if someone got ahold of your computer, in which case smashboards may be the least of your problems. Only other problem I can see is that I don't actually remember my password.

I shut off the site when I'm done, but I never actually click the logout button. The site recognizes that as offline. I never have to log in when I enter smashboards.

perhaps the logoff function is so multiple users can get on the forum from the same computer.

I thought the site registers you as inactive, and thus, logged out.

Technically you may be right, but I don't think that's what the topic is about. Unless the first poster is leaving his computer on constantly, in which case, yeah might be a bad idea.

I don't log off because...I can't. My compy always tells me to clear my cookies or something, which would probably mean deleting all the passwords Internet Explorer is remembering for me, which I don't want to do.
