@tibs, ill do it for you man

@aa, I want to make blastgatr work. Pairing it with zoroark for the zekrom matchup.

Americas nationals and worlds will be hs-on.

i reckon blastzel is better, easier to set up, but each to their own

ive seen a deck that ran blastoise/feraligatr/hydro pump samurott/politoed/dragonair lol, so much water synergy, too bad most are stage 2

im running cinccino/zoroark with umbreon (vs donchamp), might use yanmega as a tech, pretty mediocre but it can compete assuming a decent setup...it's doing well vs md-on decks that don't aim to donk, anyway

reshiboar is problematic, but a couple judges helps that...sorta...hate reshiboar that techs with shuckle/seeker

I wanna test a disruption build too. It'll be different without Sableye. Yanmega needs to be about speed to be worth playing. 0 for 70, as opposed to Emboar 19's 150 damage bs.

I haven't tested hs-on yet, but probably will start deck building on Monday. May end up going Stoise/zel, but I like the idea of dropping a mid-game juniper/interviewers questions to power up another stoise in one turn.

Blastgatr is all about momentum, though that seems to be the theme with hs-on. Which is cool, but ill miss the challenge of SP somewhat.

Anybody reading this should know that now is a really good time to pick up the game. REALLY good.

If I don't pull Yanmega in my next box I won't run him, period. He's not something to make a deck around because he's just mediocre, mediocre, mediocre.

Learning HGSS-on is pretty easy since it's a pretty confined meta (duh, with only 6-7 sets). I'm sort of disagreeing with you on the momentum thing because Reshiboar can completely cancel any momentum you might have and devastate you. That said, building up a powerful bench is momentum by itself. I hate it when I've just smacked a Reshiram into oblivion with Zekrom to have another come out and burn me up.

Blastgatr sort of does the same, but the raw damage output...100 is significantly less than 120 imo, it misses Yanmega, which is important, and can't be pluspower'd to do much except kill Yanmega, which isn't worth 3-4 slots in your deck. It's just not the same, plus Reshi is a basic and can be collector'd for instant threat, as opposed to Blastoise needing a candy.

What starters are you running? Good luck in nats.

Only to collectors, since they've long since be made redundant (even in unlimited). It was reprinted for a set and wasn't too good, if I recall correctly. Reshiram is literally better in every way now.

Every wednesday at clayton monash there's a league happening, or you can go to blackburn league.

Why don't you stay on one thing for more than 2 weeks and try to be good at that one thing?

good read

friend of mine placed...5th? he was playing magnerock, pretty distinctive (iirc 6 of the top 8 were SP, luxchomp/dialgachomp, and then a vilegar or something)

woulda been cool to go...

also, i just opened a box and four boosters of triumphant for two magnezone primes, two full legends (both pretty meh/gimmicky ones), gengar and absol prime and (sigh) two electrode primes...pretty happy with this

melbourne's having a *lot* of booster drafts now the prime exam period is over

Magnezone Prime is probably the most expensive card atm. ;P

MagneRock was such a late deck archtype to surface in the format that people really didn't get to practice for it much and at the very least would be the last deck I'd have tech'd against. I'm not surprised he did as well as he did.

From all the Triumphant boosters my gf, my friend and I opened, none of us got magnezone or Gengar. Pretty mad.
