If I went back in time and said that Sheik was separate from Zelda, and hasn't been replaced by Impa, chances are, no one would have believed me.
I actually suggested this as a more likely scenario than Impa joining when there was the whole Phantom controversy, I think it was in the old Roster Prediction thread, but it was generally frowned upon. Of course I still thought it'd be Zelda + Sheik in the end, but I never saw it as an impossibility.

I also thought that worst case scenario for Pokémon Trainer would be cutting Squirtle and Ivysaur with Charizard going solo since it'd be madness to cut Charizard, and that's exactly what happened too. Although again I saw it as a very slim possibility and of course predicted he'd be back full force, at this point I'm happy both Charizard and Sheik went solo though.

"Keep that Gamecube controller, girl. No matter what."

I wouldn't spoil anything else. I actually like waiting for Smash announcements lol.

What if Sal Romano actually read this topic, went back in time as per its advice, told gematsu what he knew, and this is all one big paradoxical implosion just waiting to happen? We're bound to repeat the last few months until the end of the universe itself, Smash 4 will never release.
Don't worry Kyon will convince Haruhi Suzumiya that time should continue beyond summer....eventually...

I would go back to when Sonic was announced and show every Sonic, Mario, Pac-Man, and Mega Man fan a screenshot of those four in the game and laugh at their face.

I'd go back to 2007 and congratulate my younger self for correctly predicting Villager when the Smashville stage was announced.

And then beat him senseless for various unrelated reasons.

Four little words: "Ridley's in the game". It'd be like poking an antbed. :troll:

I'd take my phone & show myself the trailers then I'd go to a bets thread & bet on the newcomers only to be right.

Is it bad I think of this all the time?

Well. I'd probably take a picture of Palutena as soon as the 3ds version came out. My camera sucks and its hard to do moves and take a pic at the same time. I do have a spare 3ds so I might use it to have just one other character and no cpu. It would probably be Mario or something idk. I'd probably post it on some kind of big internet forum and just leave with no explanation. I would be too excited to play smash so I wouldn't give out any written details or anything.

I would show off screenshots of characters and pass them off as leaks in the past. I will become the leak master.

But before that I'd bet large sums of money on Wii Fit Trainer's reveal.

Who would believe you though?
I mean, its not like they will believe that you're from the future.
He can just tell them his dad works at Nintendo...

Actually, that's a great cover. Then I could "prove" it by saying nonsense things like "Earthbound will come to Wii U Virtual Console in North America." to back up my claims. :troll:

I would simply go back to pre E3 2013 to tell @ MasterOfKnees MasterOfKnees that Ridley (most likely) is not playable.
That'd probably just have me be less active. If you really want to see me cry myself to sleep you should poke me on the shoulder August 20th 2013, the day of the Pyrosphere reveal, and say that almost a year ahead we're still running around in circles.

I wouldn't be telling you it out of malicious intent, haha. Just to avoid you getting your hopes up and then crushed.

I was real sad for you when Ridley was teased as a boss, especially after you made that long hiatus post. I've been silently supporting Ridley for a while for the sake of his passionate fans, including you. You're the most passionate one I recognize.

I would tell past me that Rosalina got into the game, because I would be super-hype about that.

I would also tell past me about a lot of stuff that was unrelated to Smash that I really wish I knew ahead of time.

I would go back to 1985 and tell young me that I was currently awaiting a new game with Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man in it together and blow my own mind.

I actually already did this which is why I knew Toon Link would be one of the "front runner" reveals. I also told myself that Charizard was breaking up with Pokemon Trainer and that Phantom was a move.

Heh, thanks. Still, I don't really regret I've gone on this ride, no matter the outcome I've had fun along the way, so it's been worth it, even if I had to go through some dissapointment. Knowing me I'd probably be too stubborn anyways to let a guy from the future get me down unless visual proof is brought along.

Ahah, that sounds just like the way I'd be with the characters I support. Lip's chances for this game are deader than dead, but I had a heck of a lot of fun speculating and coming up with ideas with like minded people. It's the journey, not the destination, hm?

I'd go back, lock my past self in my room, and leak stuff...

"Hi all, I know we haven't gotten an official announcement about Smash 4 yet, but I have some inside information for you today.
First of all, Namco is helping make the game. They may or may not get a rep...
Second, Balloon Fighters balloons are going to someone Sakurai deconfirmed! It's a pretty nifty recovery! Said newcomer also uses boxing gloves to punch.
A new Metroid stage, called the Pyrosphere. This is apparently the first stage to implement 'stage bosses', though I didn't get to play long enough to see who it is.
Toon Link is back, and still 100% clone.
Lucario has a buffed Aura mechanic. He's even more deadly now!
There are three blue-haired swordsmen, and Marth is one of them.
Surprisingly, Pokemon Trainer has been cut. What does this mean for his Pokemon??
Finally, this game will be on 3DS as well as the Wii U. 3DS has stages like Spirit Train, Arena Ferox, Nintendogs, and Prism Tower.

Well that's all I can say for now. Oh, and you guys will be in for a BIG surprise at E3!"

Specifically chose these topics to create to most potential chaos possible. Ridley teasing, X and Y teasing, Ike and Chrom teasing, Solozard teasing, and Pac-Man teasing!

Here's what I'd do:

-June 4th, 2013

To the people of Smashboards:

I recently viewed the presentation of Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U/3DS. I can now definitely confirm some things for you:

-The 3DS version will be shown first, and will showcase stages based off games like Spirit Tracks, Nintendogs, Fire Emblem Awakening, Kid Icarus Uprising and Super Mario 3D Land. Most stages on the 3DS will be based on handheld games.
-The Wii U version has some other interesting stages as well, based off home console games such as Skyward Sword, Animal Crossing City Folk, Metroid Other M and Wii Fit.
-Both versions also feature their respective Battlefield and Final Destination, and they also have a third Smash Bros-based stage, a boxing ring.
-There's some classic characters present. You'll see 9 veterans, Mario, Link (looks like Twilight Princess, but with Skyward Sword's colors), Samus Aran (wearing her Other M armor), Kirby, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Fox McCloud, Pit (with a reworked moveset based off Uprising) and Bowser (who is now upright like the Mario & Luigi series, and has several new moves that buff him up).
-You'll also get some newcomers, but I'm only going to give you slight hints. Whether or not these are the ones they choose to show off are anybody's guess:

1. One newcomer I saw uses several different things as attacks, and appears to be semi-popular. For instance, they use a helmet with balloons, a bowling ball, can grow trees, attacks with boxing gloves, rides a rocket and can snatch items and projectiles for use at any time! Surely, this character will strike fear into the hearts of millions.

2. This character is strange. Their movepool solely consists of posing and using equipment from their games. They are, however, the first "boost" character, with their Down Special allowing you to charge in order to increase strength in attacks. Surely, this character will make you say "WFT".

3. The final character I'll hint at is a pretty big deal. The character uses powerful explosives, sharp rotating blades, a strong shield they can use as offense AND defense, and other things as part of their collection of weaponry. They will bring together all fans and make the game legendary. And they're not the only one of "their kind" included in the game. Two others will appear as challengers later on, and a possible third, but don't count on that.

That's all for today, but in order to convince you, have a teaser!

Part II- June 18th

Wow, a week has passed since E3! And I see that my "predictions" have come true! How about it? You're all probably hungry for more info, huh? Well, I guess I can clarify a bit...

-The Villager does indeed use a rocket. He'll be able to summon Gyroids and board them for his Side Special, the Lloid Rocket. He also plucks weeds, uses a slingshot, makes fireworks and throws turnips! His Final Smash involves Tom Nook and the Nooklings building him a house.
-Wii Fit Trainer will indeed be a boost character. Deep Breathing is her Down Special, allowing her to increase her strength. Her Neutral Special, Sun Salutation, is an extremely powerful projectile. She also has a male costume to use, as will the Villager.
-I know of at least 6 more newcomers. Half of them are from existing franchises, two of them being part of Smash since the start! The others are hard to explain. You've probably heard of them by now, but I'll allow them to remain unnamed for your speculating purposes. However, one of them is a Smash Bros-exclusive character.

OK bye

I would do the exact same thing as you just did, but in the middle of the leak I would include something like "There will be a Ukrainian revolution, this will result in a Russian invasion and a Russian capture of Crimea, after this, the USA will declare war on russia and cause the world to enter a world wide nuclear war!" And after people start panicing as my political predictions came true, I would say one last thing

"Hey guys! Quite a week we had! I would like to share some more Smash bros news! Captain Falcon is not returning!"
