To be cryptic, I would tell my past self that he would finally get that playable frog he wanted. I wouldn't tell him what frog though, especially because Greninja wouldn't have existed yet. But if I could go back in time there are more important things I would need to do other than spoil Smash 4.

Well, in this hypothetical scenario, I may have traveled back in time and not been concerned about Smash 4. Only later I discover that Sal never got the email about the six characters and never made his unlikely prediction. This causes us to go to a bad future where Biff runs the world. With only one chance to put things right, I steal a time machine and go back in time once more. I send the email and history corrects itself.

But there very well may be an actual leaker. Or it could Mask from the future. Heck, future me could have already went back in time and created the alias "MaskOGears" while working to preserve the timeline!
