Now I'm basing most of these answers on Super Mario 64, so I'm either thinking too much or hopefully thinking just right...

1. In SM64, when you pass through the big house in the sky, you pass over a fire place that shoots fire at you.
2. SM64 reason: In the part before the maze with the red coins, you pass over a bunch of rotating circles.
SSBM reason: The level loops over and over on the same route until the match ends.
3. In SM64, in the aforementioned part before the maze, or maybe another part of the level, I believe the wind tries to disrupt you.

Wow, it's been awhile since I last played SM64, which is why I don't remember anything. Maybe I'll play it sometime between now and the Nintendo Revolution...

1. I think in one part, the Great Fox flys over a cave filled with lava or something.

2. The background repeats itself after a while.

3. You're flying on a ship so there is bound to be a breeze.
