Idea for a unique recovery

I have an idea for a unique recovery move, wherein the character pulls out a bombomb and explodes it on themselves, giving them bombomb damage and flinging them either back the the stage or to their doom. It would be awesome to see someone use this skillfully. However, as I do not currently have a copy of brawl, I am unable to test the feasability of this move. Has anyone tried this? is it possible?

I have a few ideas of how it could be done. one is where the character stops in midair, pulls out a bomb omb, and waits to throw it. In this time the player can hold a direction to dictate which direction it will be thrown. Then the character throws the bombomb, and the very next frame there is a large hitbox surrounding the character which is meant to detonate the bomb, which will then send the character flying, hopefully back to the stage. Could this be done?

Also, discuss any other unique recovery ideas, as I am planning on making a psa character once I get another brawl disk.

would be cool if we could change the item affiliation
ex: Link cannot attack his own bombs and bombjump (pull out bomb,throw bomb up, upb, *boom*, clawshot/upb) because it is affiliated with him. Same goes w/ Toon Links bombs

lol cuckoos, this is actually a legitimate discussion question I'm actually not going to lock.

I was going to say the only thing similar is mimicking Snake's C4 since it does all of the above in regular Brawl, except it's not really a bombomb.

If you take damage that would a horrible recovery move. Taking damage is the second worst thing you want to happen (after dying). Plus, some1 could predict your trajectory; when you recover you MUST head for the stage.

Edit: What about a recovery where you use a tether w/ a bomb on the tip? When the tether sticks to the ledge the bomb explodes for a big hitbox to garuntee a safe recovery. To balance it, give it around 20 frame start-up lag.

I've always hated that. Why is it that he can be hurt by the explosions, but he can't cause them to explode?
