Infinite Dimensional Cape is clearly a lot more useful than how it appears.
A nice little thread of more IDC applications would really help these boards; enjoy. nodbzjohns

Application 1: D-Throw --> IDC --> Analyzations --> Haxx
After performing a DThrow, most people would excpect you to run at them. What if I decided to do an IDC? Wouldn't that setup so much more possibilities?
After DThrowing and IDCing, just wait for it. If they roll in fear, come out of the shadows with a DSmash switchblade.
They really don't have a lot of options available for them... This puts you in godly position.

I can't think of a situation where this is the best option. Especially in person, they just watch you frenetically slamming your c-stick downwards, and when you stop they press shield and d-smash...

also pretty unpractical because, you know, it's illegal.

in a friendly setting where there are no rules IDC abuse could also result in a swift punch in the face I wouldn't risk it =/

IDC may be useful, but to use it is to alienate anyone you're playing with

In a tournament you get banned
Offline you get punched in the face (as Nic64 said), or in the alternative: you win the match but your friends refuse to play you anymore
Online it might work, and you'll win plenty of matches . . . but is it really that much fun to rely on a move like that? It can't be used in any other play, so to rely on a move like that only makes you a worse player overall
