Is there a specific timing for the IC's grab->d-throw->nana dair?

I can only do it on bowser atm and i want to learn how to do it on other characters, specifically Fox and Marth.

the timing differs by character weight (you can only learn it by practicing)

also it's not guaranteed on most characters (most noticeably on floaties)

i think it's floaties minus peach, but it's really hard to do it on marth and peach

you can't CT samus whatsoever with any CT...don't know why, i've tried everything, maybe you can with the tap reset CT but she could probably still get around that

peach can't escape it if done right, same with marth

and yes, it's reverse dair, some weird timing for them

what are you basing this on

you seem to really like stating conjecture as fact

reverse dair is NOT guaranteed on marth

cause i watched nintendude do it on marths at a tournament, and he landed almost every single grab on them

so, how can people know the match-up well if there are no people to play

why most good IC players do really well in tournaments

knowing all this that you just said, why would you come out and be so sure that it works on marth?

don't state things as facts if they aren't true; not everyone already knows the answer and some people just might take you seriously

i mean, 7 different marths, in which 4 of them that are rank high in the state is pretty good evidence

it's just some really hard timing, i can't do it

and didn't chu dat CT husband to some crazy high percents

With all the chainthrowing i do, im pretty certain im good at it... And no matter how much better I am than my brother, i can only chaingrab marth for sure once at 0% and thats with the fair...

No matter how much i try to dair chain or reverse dair chain, he just dbl jumps out and fairs me...

i've chain grabbed marth once..idk how..but i was going against my friend's marth, i gave it a shot, cause i was in a tight situation, i tried to do a dthrow+dair chain grab, and i actually did it, idk how but..i did..which won the game for me..so..this marth chain grab solution must be made.

You can down-throw dair cg Marth, Peach, and Samus but they can escape. However, it seems like Marth gets out a lot more easily. I attempted it a lot on Emblem Lord and it just wouldn't work. There's a much smaller window for escaping with Peach and Samus which is why I get it to work a lot more.

The main thing to remember when doing the standard down-throw dair chaingrab is the opponent's weight. The heavier s/he is the longer you have to delay the dair.

if "they can escape", i consider that as not being able to CG them -_-

especially when it's as easy as jumping out, as it is for marth/samus

peach has to SDI

I just use the term chaingrab really loosely. If a chaingrab is guaranteed on some characters and can work on other characters it's a lot easier to just refer to it the same way. Like who would change the name to 'down-throw dair combo' just because the context is vs. Marth rather than vs. Falco. I suppose I could but I don't really think about that kind of thing.

i guess one climber can CG luigi with just dthrow then right? it works if they don't jump or DI

edit: i'm not trying to be an *******, sorry if i'm coming across as one. basically, i'm saying that marth and samus escape so easily that it's not worth considering a CG at all

i have no problem with it being called a legitimate CG on peach, etc. because it's harder to escape; however, i personally will always prequalify it as dependent on DI

but when they can just jump out, which is everyone's first instinct when getting CG'd anyway, it's not a CG -_-

^^^ LOL without DI and attacks. Jiggs can chainthrow every single character in the game with u-throw... as long as the opponent doesn't dodge, attack, or DI

the reverse chainthrow does NOT work on Marth and Peach if properly DI'd. Evidence of this is that I land it every single time on less experienced Marths and Peaches, and even some fairy skilled Marths and Peaches. However, when playing Ken or Edrees I rarely if ever can land the second grab. These aren't just in tournament matches so avoid saying "that's cause of the pressure or you were nervous" I've played both of them in friendlies and tournaments alike. It can be escaped consistantly, and that makes me sad.

i've been playing vs. a marth recently and i think i found a way to chain grab him at like 30-60... Could someone test this out too?

It's just dthrow, nair, regrab...

I was doing it solo climber, i dont know if it works with nana around...
