Another character to the roster?
What's the problem? It doesn't deconfirm Ness, hell, it even mentions him.
I can't see the downside to this, other than the thousand 1 liner "ZOMG LUCAS LOL" posts that are bound to fill the place.

I probably should've let it keep going, but for some reason it irks me too much for people to think I'm stupid.
Edit: Also, yeah, I think Lucas will probably be Ness's Mario/Luigi version. Pikachu got one, Link got one, Ness deserves one.

Yeah, it does suck. If nothing else, if Ness is still in Brawl, I'll finally have a Secondary.
I find nothing humorous about the same subject being posted in 3 places in the last 10 minutes. And this is prone to happening every update night.

Yeah seriously, this kinda effects us. You spend some dozens of hours playing a character, you get a little attached.

Yeah, if Ness is replaced, we're all the first people to have our main character removed from the series...in the history of the series. It could be an epic letdown.

Hmm I wasn't excepting this. I thought for sure Paula, Jeff, or Poo, would have made it in here. (tho they still could I guess) We all knew that an Earth bound character would be in brawl when they released the Franklin Badge and Mr. Saturn (in one of the snake photos for i think it was TGS)
Lucas seems like he's gonna be a "Ness Clone" which I thought they said they were going to do away with the "clones. Does this mean Ness will play different? Does this mean Ness won't return? I guess only time will tell us.

Well yeah, but both are in Mother 3...which is why Lucas has always been a possibility.
And they DID kinda say that...but in a roundabout way. I dunno, I hope not. I'd be more than a little irked, especially considering that Mother 3 wasn't released in the US, DESPITE PLENTY OF INTEREST IN A LOCALIZATION

I was so pissed and excited at the same time.
At school, it would just occur to me at random moments that lucas was in brawl and in my head or out loud ( depending on where i was ) i would just say ****!!
I still need to get the rom.
Does this mean that japan-only games would feature characters in brawl too?!??!

Lol, I think you read the wrong part of his post. He said he didn't like those people either. He thinks Ness is in, and expressly made fun of those who hate on Ness.

I don't know, I think that third frame look more like a special than a Fair. A projectile, Lucas has his right eye closed, as if he's aiming.
The second and fourth pictures are really odd, they don't really look like attacks at all to me. Maybe...a taunt and a still from a cut scene? I guess the second picture could be Lucas finishing a move...maybe the end of a Teleport? Can Lucas Teleport? Man I can't wait till Starmen finish with that translation.

Going clockwise I think the first picture actually looks a lot like Ness's Nair. The 2nd and 4th pics could very well be taunt(s), or pictures from cutscenes. But the second pic could also be Lucas stopping mid dash. The third pic, where you mentioned he was aiming, actually made me think of Zelda's current b move. As if he was pushing the energy forward. But then again it also looks like Ness's fair.
All I know is that without Ness in the game I'll be disappointed. I"m just hoping later this week we get a Ness update saying, "Oops, forgot to mention that Ness is in the game."
