The Dreamcast is a system that I've spent a few months hunting down. Last night, I finally got my hands on one, bought a game called Grandia II, a second controller and a memeory card. Apon plugging it in and firing it up, a wave a nostalgia came over me as memories from many years ago when my friend had one of these came to mind. Then it was killed pretty quickly by the fact that I've never even heard of the Grandia series up until now. But enough of that, the point is that I'd like some suggestions for games that we're great on this system. I already have some titles in mind (Jet Grind Radio, Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur, Shenmue, ect.) but I'd like to maybe go for something more obscure. So, any suggestions?

I never had a Dreamcast, but wanted one for Sonic Adventure and Rayman 2, so if you've not already got it, then Rayman 2 is defintitely a great purchase.

I had played it before hand on the PSone, and I own it for the PC, and Revolution for the PS2, but the Dreamcast version is meant to be superior if I recall correctly.

I've also heard some game called Power Stone being good. I think it's a 4 player fighting game that's popular with Dreamcast fans.

Sonic Adventures 1 & 2. You need the Generic Titles.

You should also get Silver, it's a naff RPG but it's fun the first playthrough.

Power Stone is also a fun Party-Style fighter. I loved it.

I love Dreamcast. Go nuts man.

Soul Calibur. Sooooo good, still looks fresh, good controls. It's just pure sex imo. Plus mission mode. You can't get that on XBox 360.

Power Stone is good as well.
Try and pick up some of the Evolution games as well. I liked those.

Sword of the Berserk: is a fun hack and slash game.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: is a very interesting fighter, I would suggest checking it out. Characters are very unique, they don't fit the archetypes you usually see in fighters.
Chu Chu Rocket: is very fun if you have friends to play with. The game doesn't get boring for a long time.
Power Stone and Power Stone 2 are pretty nice. I prefer the first one. Both games have problems but they are pretty fun.
Project Justice: is a pretty cool fighter but some character sound effects get annoying. It almost feels like a Capcom VS series game but in 3d.
Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future: if you never played it before, interesting but confusing.
Virtua Fighter 3: Probably the most unique game in the virtua fighter series. It has some fun characters and nice stages that aren't as simple as they are in other VF games. Definitely worth getting.

I'm planning of on getting Sonic Adventure, for sure, but as for 2... well, I already own SA2B on the Game Cube so... yeah. Silver sounds interesting, though.

Crazy Taxi, among other amazing Arcade ports.

Just wait for Neko to get in this thread. I know he'll have a huge list of amazing games.
HOLY CRAP CRAZY TAXI! I remember when my firend first got that! We stayed up 'till some ungodly hour of the night just switching off on that game!

Powerstone! For the love of god get Powerstone!
What's Powerstone like? I've heard of it, but never played it.

Oh my god finalark... you are just gonna love grandia II.
i was coming in here just to make you get that game (:
Ironic, eh?

I'm hoping to pick up a copy of SC as soon as they get one in at my local Play N Trade, man I have good memories tied to that game.

And I've never heard of the evolution games, what are those like?

Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future for DC: if you never played it before.

All of these sound really interesting, with the acception of Ecco. Sorry, I was never a fan of Ecco, even back on the Genesis/Mega Drive. It looks like the Dreamcast had some great fights, good thing too. I really enjoy fighters.

2D fighting go Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. If you like Grandia 2 try Skies of Arcadia. If you like shooters try Ikaruga ... ummm, Shenmue is a must... err, if you liked the SNK fighters get Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves... and what everyone else said ^^

Not sure how much you'd be into Sonic Shuffle, considering that the load times can get to those not all too patient...

Not a total Mario Party rip-off.

There's also Fur Fighters.
