I need help from tournament directors

Hi guys, im tom... im planning on starting a tournament group with a friend of mine... and we were wondering a couple of thing about making a tournament.

1.- How did you started hosting?
2.- How much money did you invested?
3.- Which are the priorities in tournament hosting?
4.- How did your tournaments became well known?
5.- How did you distributed the work between partners?

Always remember to start smaller rather than larger. If it's your first event, try to make it a 20 person thing with people you already know, then build up from there. More people exponentially multiplies the difficulty of running an event.
