I need an opinion...

I love Link as well as Y. Link. I'm not asking for a serious critique here...I know what I need to work on and that these arn't my best matches (I need to figure out the best way of incorporating SHFFL)...now onto my question.

After watching the matches of my Link and my Y. Link, which one has better potential in your opinion. I know both will need work but I'm kinda loking for which should be my main. I also have picked up a little Sheik and considering her has a secondary or rather third, but I'm not going to bring her up here. I have two more matches of my Y. Link and will post them as soon as their uploaded...

I watched one of each and heres the deal. You still need a lot of work before your up to tournament standards. your Link is fast but thats a given for the two characters. You also have a slightly better projectile game withY.Link. But theres two thing you need to consider while choosing which one will be your main.

1.Anything Young Link can do, Link can do better(Except...)
Be fast than young Link
Have a faster forward tilt with young link and spike.
2.Young Link his fast and has more stun time with projectiles, and has you useing a almost completly different playstyle than Adult Link.

Thats about it, it comes down to who you perfer. If you want to get better faster, then I'd go with young Link, he has somewhat less of a learning curve for advanced techs and is more of a projectile user.

If you want Ko power and killing combos, go with Link. He has a much better close range game than Y.Link does but a slightly weaker projectile game since his dont cause as much stun time.

Anything Y.LInk can do, LInk usually can't do better.

I see this a lot but overall, the two are almost dead even. I use Link, though at times I wish I had picked up Y.Link. as a character, he is much quicker and has a much better wave dash. His fast fall is slower but it doesn't make a huge difference. He can't be shine waved, and his projectiles set you up for massive combos. Link is better at comboing without projectiles and does have a few he can pull off with projectiles. the only reason I would chose LInk is because of his weight. Y. Link just flat out dies too easily. His hook shot has no distance so all he has for recovery is his spin attack. Link just looks much faster with his shffles so he looks much flashier than Y.Link. overall, they're pretty even. LInk however has better tourney matchups so I'd go with him.

I guess I was asking which one does it seem has more potential for how I seem to play? I spam a lot, but I also can't finish with Y. Link at all...
