DESTROY ALL METAKNIGHTS MELEEEEEEE

No, but seriously, since he's fast, let him come to you. If you approach him he'll just dodge and attack, seeing as he has a major speed advantage. Exploit the sidestep dodge! Also, keep in mind he has no projectiles.

Pk fire. A lot. for spacing

A A job dtilt til he trips/dodges (if dodge, you roll, if trip, fsmash)

Sidestep all of his attacks, keeping in mind which direction you are compared to MK (smarter MK's turn around to hit you first as it is often unexpected, be aware if they do this to you)

Make sure to learn how to Zap Juimp/Magnet Pull as both have saved me quite a few times. (he tried to stage spike me at a low %, so I Zap Jumped to my recovery rather then use a slow PKT2)

Do not play an aerial edgegame, his sword > your feet instead use PK Freeze or Pk Thunder ( I prefer thunder if hes higher up, blizzard if hes coming from the bottom )

Metaknight is very suited against Lucas, so there aren't any solid strategies unless you're just a better player than your opponent.

Anyways, I'd suggest playing extremely defensively at the beginning by sidestepping everything, using PK Fire when you're sure it's absolutely safe, and punishing everything with the Jab Combo and F-Tilt. When you get him to around 70%, start playing erratically. Do lots of fake-outs, as long as you're sure it's absolutely safe, to confuse your opponent. Once in a while, you should try going for the KO. The PKT1 fakeout into PKT2 is a good option. You can also floorblast, roll behind your opponent and pull out the stick, or try hyphen smashes if you are at low percentage. Try to KO using unconventional tactics.

Bleh, I hate him also. PK really helps in this matchup. It outranges him well and he has no projectile. It outprioritizes his tornado also should that be used on you.

You have to play very defensively in this match. You outprioritize his ground attacks IIRC, so ftilt, jab, etc. In the air, you are at a disadvantage. He has a lot of lagless attacks, so lag punishment will be extremely hard, so you have to read him. It sounds general, but seriously, reading a MK is important. You have to predict.

So read MK, PKF well, and stick it to the ground.

In my area 4/5 of the people are either MK, Snake, or Marth. Not good for Lucas.

But against MK, keep him away as he doesn't have projectiles and rack up damage with PKF and Ftilt.

MK is ridiculously popular in my area... and everywhere else. My big problem with MK is dealing with his d-air; it ***** stupidly hard.

Hahahahaha. Nair is a good way to get yourself sworded. Only usable against careless MKs.

ftilt and PK Fire stop that evil tornado. Dair stops his Up B if you time it right. Go for the Bair spike or Dsmash at the edge if they're careless. Don't **** around when you're off the edge. Use PKT2 to get on before they can start edgeguarding. Rope tether is dangerous because of MK's Dair near the edge. Wait for the opportunity to Fsmash either from a Dair or timed properly if he's coming in for a glide attack. If all else fails, ledgecamp to rack up some damage.

You are at a major disadvantage. Bad matchup for Lucas.

Lucas was my definitive MK killer until I ran in to a player named Clouderz. MK character mastery, like Anther using Pikachu. He wins all the tourneys in my area.

Yeah except mastering MK takes like half an hour...

Some people are just stupid. A lot like the throngs of s..hitty fox players in Melee.
