Hi, everyone, I'm CA$H. I'm not really known much around smashboards, but you might've heard me on the news...

It was the 4th of July. I was at my uncle's house with my cousins and general family. We were lighting off fireworks, when suddenly, I felt a shock go through my body and I fell down. I had been shot.
I was bleeding tremendously from the neck. Luckily, Rick, one of the family friends how used to be a marine, stopped the bleeding on the outside by holding the skin tightly pinched together.
I was rushed to the hospital in the ambulance, and the next thing I new, I was in a room with many doctors who were about to remove the bullet(s) from my body. Then everything went black.

I woke up a day later, with family around my hospital bed. The told me I had been shot. I had fractured ribs in my body, and there was a blood clot in the lungs because there the bullet pierced and also in my back.

Ironically, I had just been shot, but I healed amazingly fast and was only in the hospital for 6 days! It was unbelievable. I had been shot 2 times, underwent a surgery to remove a blood clot, and had fractured ribs in my back. But I was only in the hospital for 6 days.

After time out of the hospital, I began to wonder. "Is there something wrong with me? I just got shot and I don't feel angry at all to the drunk who did it." I treated the shooting like an everyday/accident type of thing

Is there something wrong with me? Feel free to post your thoughts and feelings.

the only thing wrong w/you is that you question your forgiving nature, your maturity in realizing accidents happen. the other thing you should question is whether or not it'd be worth suing them for improper discharge of a weapon in a residential area (unless you live somewhere where it's OK to shoot your gun at your neighbor >.>)

EDIT: And I'm glad you came out alright, that could have been the end of you.

Yea, go see a shrink, this is wrong, you should hold an incredible grudge against the person who was out of his mind and shot you for no reason (assuming it was).

CA$H, I see youre from Minnesota but I dont recognize your name. FYI Minnesota doesn't post tournaments or smashfest on smashboards for the most part - we have our own mini smashboards website. We have stuff most weeks, that is if youre from around the twin cities.

And as for getting shot, I would probably be a little more annoyed than you are right now...

edit - I just creeped on your profile and saw that youre from west st paul. Nice! You should definetely make an account at MNSmash. (You cant view the real website till after you make an account)

Thanks for replying.

As for the shooter, my father as well as the rest of my family, is pursuing legal action. My dad is hoping to 'get this sucker locked away forever.'

Also, GF2tw, I wouldn't think I would need to see a shrink. 'o.0 As far as me, as well as everyone else can tell, I am completely sane. Maybe it's my religion, self-control, and maturity that allowed me to forgive this man. As for that, well, it's a possibility.

If you ask me, there's nothing wrong with you at all. I only wish that I'll be able to have that kind of humility if I ever get hurt like that.

I'm curious...

Do you support pro-gun arguments? Like all that charlton heston stuff.

Guys behave.

Don't assume he's lying and even if you think he is, don't make a deal of it here.

You don't have to believe him either, but whatever the point is wasted.

My dad was shot a few years back in the line of duty(police), got out of the hospital in 2 days. I don't hold a grudge anymore towards the guy who shot him, and neither does my father, who got shot. He's paying for his actions with jail time for 2 counts of attempted homicide.
Apparently he only meant to shoot the SWAT officer next to him.(That officer had body armor on, he got out of the hospital the same night). I know that's still bad, but he's apologized for his actions, and like I said, he's paying for his crimes.

Thanks for all the replies, guys.

And no, I can assure you I am not lying. Look me up on Yahoo or something :/
Anyways, I mostly posted this blog when I was confused and didn't know what to do. But now I see, through your comments, I'm not crazy. (lol)

I must ask... why wait so long after joining this website to write a blog about this? You joined this website less than two weeks after getting out of the hospital. Surely the date you joined is related to the incident, right? Perhaps your injury isolated you from going anywhere for a while. May as well look up info on one of your favorite video games during that time... That's similar to how I got into the competitive scene...

Or maybe I've watched too many episodes of Cased Closed today... ;/

Curse my atypical fascination with quirky detective shows...
Why me?!

edit:
In any case, that sucks. I'm glad you found it in your heart to forgive the man. I can't imagine any 49 year old getting upset over fireworks though. O.o

I would hold a massive ****ing grudge if that happened to me. There's nothing wrong with you if you don't, but personally I'd want 5 minutes alone with the guy in a room with no windows. Senseless violence is so...senseless -_-

Do I support Pro-gun arguements?

Well, as I have many guns in my house, I'm definetley not AGAINST them. I mean, I'm all for hunting, but using guns in public areas as such, is what I'm definetley against. I believe in possession of arms.

Sorry, double post.

Anyways, I didn't just join the website to blog about this. I mostly joined to see if there were any Smash tournaments in the area, because I LOVE smash. It's my favorite game.

It was just coincidence. I just wasn't bored in the hospital. I was always curious about joining Smashboards. But, I guess I didn't have anything else to do. 'o.0
