works? possibly yes, possibly no. No I am not looking for fame.

All I did was do the third hit of the dancing blade down for the pseudo-spike, and then footstooled. Due to its effectiveness and its difficulty to pull off, it may not be one of the best moves for kills, but it seems decent if one can pull it off consistently. Especially if you footstool ---> dair.

Not to mention it's as satisfying as landing twelve brawl knees in one match. I haven't tried this out with every character so I don't know what would happen for someone like Snake or MK.

I was gonna put vids, but my video camera is crap, and I don't have a gamebridge yet.

I have the replay though.

Can you put the replay up for download? Or do you have to send it via the Wii?

The effectiveness of this in real battle will be slim to none. But I'm bored, so entertain me. =P

Interesting, so you use the third ending strike to do a weak spike , fastfall chase into a footstool and you can either edgehog at that point or do a footstooled spike?

It seems to be able to work on characters with linear or low vertical recoveries, but its use is questionable still.

I would upload the video for you, but I'm running on dial-up atm, so sorry. =/

Eh, its already been known that the third hit of dancing blade down can spike, its just the sweet spot is like almost non-existent

It's not that I don't know that. I just was able to use its weak spike and connect it with a footstool. Uh, can someone download and record?

@Crizthakidd:

I did it. In the air.

Uh, I use the third part of Dancing Blade to spike opponent's all the time. Albeit not on command, but whenever I can pressure an opponent at the edge, I usually use this and it sometimes works. I love it on Snake because it's a free kill to follow up with a Spike after.

And for footstooling, I may be pro footstool, though I usually don't use it after this particular tactic. I should though, just for the bonus lulz. Good call.

This strategy does work, I highly encourage practice.

Just to clarify, the third hit has to tip at the end of the blade right? Because for some reason I've tipped people using the middle of the blade and whatnot. Could be a mis-observation but I'll let you guys who are experimenting with it more than me tell me up front.

Eh, I'm not trying to find the spike box because even if I did know exactly where it was, being able to execute it on command with variable opponent DI is just beyond plausible. Nevertheless, I attempt it each time hoping it works, because when it does, it's a free, uber-sexy KO

=(

You're no fun!

<___<

*pouts quietly to himself*

Anyway, how is it a better spike than say Dair? It's as weak of a spike as Falco's phantasm is, right? Or should I return my copy of Barlwz for a non-defective copy? It's naturally stronger at higher percentages, but it's not much of a gimp. Pit and ROB can survive through it I'm sure.

Also, knowing where it sweetspots matters since we could possibly follow opponent DI. It's variable yes, but it has its constants as well. Besides, there's no such thing as bad knowledge...

just useless knowledge. :urg:

I suggest keep trying to find where it will spike xD

Basic method: jumping CPU in training.

The third strike is kind of hard to see, so I've been trying to find out where it spikes. Although the tip is probably it.

okay, so you did dancing blade spike -> footstool. While it could be useful because you can FSJ spike, this sounds extremely situational, and like it may only work at certain percents, and it's risky. Just sounds much more safer to fair / nair IMO

It wasn't really intended to be a move that should be done consistently xD. If it was, ****.

I just put it up cause it looked friggin' awesome. Who wouldn't want to pull this off in a match o.o

Mm. The hitbox is too peculiar to attempt regularly in my opinion, similar to a reverse Dolphin Slash that sends your opponent vertically. It's one of Marth's unique properties that is seen every now and then, but that's it.

I believe the hitbox is in the middle of the sword like Roy's Side-B third hit up in Melee. At least it seems to be like that. It's too hard to regularly test for me. =/
