I can't beat the Lv9 bots. Are they really as easy ss everyone says?

I keep getting 3 stocked by the bots, it's like they're better than the players online. I'm worried that if I can't beat them, I don't stand a chance in the competitive scene.

Lv9 bots in this game are meant to replicate top professional players. I don't have a source for this, but I've heard that 4 Japanese pros were asked to help in developing the A.I. in this game. Again, no source, so take that with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, they've taken a big step up from the previous games and have frame 1 reaction times (meaning they react to your inputs on the very first frame, which is pretty much impossible for any human to do). Don't worry about it, and don't fight them too much. You may develop bad habits attempting to exploit the A.I.'s imperfections (like fully charging smash attacks and letting them walk into it) and thus hinder your own performance in the process.

Still up Peach's dress.
They're not that difficult but they are far harder than previous entries. There's no shame in losing to these CPUs especially at current as you try to get to grips with the new game mechanics.

Worth pointing out they don't necessarily play like real people anyway and level 9s have always had annoying perfect shield and dodges. The reaction timing can be unnatural because...well it is.

Basically don't feel bad about it and keep playing against people instead!

Everyone says they are hard as hell, they were wiping everyone out during first week of the game. It's perfectly okay being beaten by them.

I don’t know what to say.

I find them harder than in Smash 4, but i have a good time playing against them.

I have won a lot of matches too with the 3-stock and final destination ruleset.

People are saying the L9 CPUs are easy? Lol what?

They're definitely harder than Smash 4. I'd say Level 6-7 in Ultimate is pretty comparable to Level 9 in Smash 4 in terms of skill, and then there's always the frame-perfect dodges and shields which the computer always has the advantage..

Wait, what? Not to make myself seem good or anything..... but these 9 CPUs seem so much easier than Sm4sh's. Ultimate is the first time I ever 3-stocked a 9 CPU.

Edit: Maybe I just sucked at beating 9 CPUs in Smash 4 because they played nothing like real people.

I dont think they're that hard to beat like i can three stock them BUT I'd be lying if I said that I never lost to one of them. I mean i cant go easy on them or I'll definetly lose the game

I've found that fighting lvl 9 bots helps me perfect some of the basics because they will always react perfectly in a lot of scenarios.

For an example, an up throw into an up air will always be air dodged - just like it would if you were playing against a pro.

Knowing the correct "line" (as we'd say in chess) for your opponent to take helps you expand your creativity and play around what that correct line is.

Just one example. Don't feel bad for losing to a ton of frame-perfect parries in a row, just try to learn and grow as a player.
