sup smashboards, longtime lurker here. this scenario crossed my mind recently. We have player 1 at 200% and player 2 at 100%. Player 1 sends player 2 flying off the top, but right before he becomes a star time is called. I think the game registers this as a win for player 2, but in a tournament match who gets the win? Does player 1 win because player 2 is technically dead, does player 2 retain the win due to % advantage, or is it a draw?

edit- forgot to mention they're both on their last stock

Whichever character shows up on the winner screen wins in tournament as well. Regardless of %.

If they have the same amount of stocks, the game registers a draw (which means Sudden Death).
Our usual tournament rules dictate that the player with the lowest % wins a draw, so in this case player 2 wins.

If a giraffe and four three legged boars were to battle, how long would it take for the cake to bake?

What if both people hit each other upwards (hypothetically) and it was obvious who cleared the top border first, but the second person to clear the border got unlucky with his off-the-top death and does that thing where he falls down the front and bumps the camera, which is significantly faster than the star-KO, therefore he officially loses even though his opponent cleared the top border first?

Long sentence lol.

sounds stupid but your stock is only gone when its gone, if the game ends 0.1 seconds before you would "become a star" (XD) you still got that stock, so ofc the player with less 0% won

yeah MBR ruleset /does/ say no pausing & darkrain paused so either way he loses?
That's true, but I remember when it happened there were some people that had thought JMan paused it and thus Darkrain should've won after Falcon appeared on the screen as the winner (after Jman unpaused it). That's why I said something "like" that situation. So basically if Jman had been the one to pause then Falcon would have been the winner. But honestly at that point it's more up to the players discretion because I know Darkrain wouldn't have taken a win in that set knowing he lost fair and square.

Whoever the game shows as the winner, is the winner.
