We need to smash Saturday (I'm talking to the Magnolia people).
Reliance on personal contact and phone calls creates small smash things like 2-3 people. I want like 8 people on Sat. That means everyone needs to hear about it in a public place...
I don't know where... but like, I know Side/Seth/Gabe/Bear might read this, but someone should contact Zap/Makemidget/Cesar/Omni *cough*smashnamespeople*cough* as well, if we decide to do this.
Smash is fun, I just seem to suck at it now-n-days. I want to smash again though...

Seems to be another problem deciding a date.
Since it seems like wednesday MIGHT be a smash day, that'll be interfering the people who are going to watch Transformers. But will anyone be willing to watch a debut that comes out on an odd day? Wednesday? Most go on friday or saturday.
If we take this conversation and brainstorm it in a chat room, preferably AIM, we can get something done. At a faster pace.

After SmallBlackBoy started the money match talk, there's been 1.5 page spam. The kid has AIM, and the challenge for money matches could be settled by instant messaging. Screen name is the same as his username on here.

Yeah man, I have been playing lately trying out a lot of the characters, don't know who to stick to. I am pretty good with all the new chars but a big difference from link, but then again I need this drastic change for more competitive play.

Alrighty peoples, stop spamming this thread. I've just read through quite a bit of these pages and it has been nothing but spam with the occasional on-topic post. Next, I noticed everytime someone says something regarding another fellow smasher good or bad, he/she is met with a " X amount of dollars MM". Quite frankly, it's utterly annoying and it's showing that not only does Houston have a weak smash scene, but that most of the people within it aren't the brightest of people. I mean no one hasn't even tried setting up any tournaments, while surrounding cities are practicing all the time. You can't get better not playing people. I'd supply a place to play, but you ungrateful scoundrels not as much said thanx to me once. All you did was complain about what all happened there. This is not how a "community" is supposed to act, especially when places to play are already as limited and as expensive as they are.

Honestly, Houston is not disorganized. well it is but thats not the problem we face. There are 4 factors that screw houston.
1. Too many people do not have cars/trucks/tanks/vans.
2. Tournaments are held few and far between(due to no venues). And when they DO happen, half of all the people that complain about not smashing never show up once there is a tourney. this is the biggest problem, u complain about no smash but once there is some......you dont show.
3. Money! No one is willing to pay gas money or shell out money for a tourney fee. Dont come back and argue this point. its a fact.
4. you idiots never use the tgm combo. no wonder houston sucks.
but in all seriousness, i have a way to fix every thing.

SHUT THE **** UP AND ACTUALLY ATTEMPT TO FIX IT! INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING OR MAKING EXCUSSES! GET OFF YOUR *** AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO FIND VENUES, LEARN HOW TO HOLD A TOURNEY(im always willing to give advice/run it). MAKE AN EFFORT, YOU POOP FACED B@STARDS!

Do any of you want to get better? Im mean seriosuly better! do any of yall want to reach mega high levels of amazing-ness like Jimbo/SideEffect/CF/TGM/Mouf/Sethlon/Gabe? If so, you need hold tournies/attend them/practice with us and others. instead of making people come to you, go to them.
Go to tournaments, HOLD tournaments.
North houston players could go to magnolia sometimes. you have gabe/seth which are both better than me and mouf. or you could so south and southwest houston to play SE and CF. or you could have your own tourny and we will all go.
I can only do so much. If you are serious about fixing Houston smash scene, then do it. The cure is in your hands.

You make a lot of interesting points with your post TGM, the only problem with it, is like you already stated in your post. Yes, you say go out and find venues, but you yourself(TGM) know how expensive they are. Plus majority of these people don't have cars or jobs to do this amazing feat like you already stated. And the for some of the ones who do have jobs, amazingly enough, do not have money as well. Which is why it amuses me that even though nobody has money, everytime someone posts something other than spam it's about doing a money match usually of $5 or more. Hmmm, if the requesters have that much money to always dish out, they need to come together and put that money down for a venue, because mm'ing every person only keeps tourney goers broke and unable to play at a tournament when one does randomly appear at the last minute.

Couple Things:
#1 TGM Iv never laughed so hard.
#2 Everyone stop agreeing to post saying "yeh", and "i agree"..etc. Thats spam too. Dont agree just do it.
#3 Im getting a car in about a month.
O.k this is what were gonna do.
A)Were going to start hosting one tournement every 2months...dont stop me just listen. B)Were going to start telling people, people ahead of time about the tournements...not two weeks...try a month.
C)Were going to start listening to the people. If somone cant attend or alot of people cant, change the date.
D)Everyone needs to start talking to there parents/bosses/P.O's/Family about these tournements. I noticed people are always sayin last minute things... "my family is goin to mexico", "I have to do somethin for school" etc...last minute type shi...... anyways I know I do it too but lats stop it.
E)We need to find a place in the middle of houston...like downtown houston to play...EVERYONE needs to be tryin to research.
F)TGM has car. Ray has car. ResumeD has car. G@BE had car. <---I know this isnt all there is. We need to start car pooling BETTER.
G)The whole money is...save one dollar a day so in a month you'll have 30$...it amazes me how $%@^$& everyone in this !^$#@#$# city can money match. But no one has money to enter a tournement.
^Some of these things we obviously need to work on more than others but some were doing kinda good on. Some of these like rides/money/place to play ='ing everything we need to play...were %^@#&# SUCKING AT!.
