how would i go about converting an audio file to a wave file

cuz im trying to put my own audio up for the windows start up but it needs to be a wave file which is not an option on the windows audio converter.

It's called a wave file. The extension is .wav.

Okay, I suggest audacity. Simple, easy to use, yet powerful enough for other things as well. Plus, open source.

This will handle wave, ogg, flac, mp3, and a few others. If it doesn't work for you, we'll see what we can do.
