How will Sakurai reveal the rest of the characters?

With the 4 hinted returning char shown @ direct or hinted somewhere else its possible to get those out of the way and show them those 4 returning vets @ e3. cuz maybe sakurai showed us samurai Goroh on purpose I'm pretty sure his picky about how he should reveal things in the nitendo direct. Also since The last e3 showed 3 to get hyped about Ssb then maybe 3 newcomers will be shown @e3

Sakurai is not going to reveal the whole roster. Why would he do that when he was upset that Brawl's roster and SSE mode got leaked? Sakurai revealed to good amount of characters that can be the starting roster while the other characters not mentioned yet will be unlockables.

But I didn't say those were all of them. I'm just saying that many will be shown @e3 the rest will remain a secret in the game.

But the roster is the same for both versions. We're going to have the full roster unlocked WAY before the Wii U version releases. There's no point in making directs for revealing characters after the 3ds version releases.

I know this is gonna sound crazy, far-fetched and maybe even stupid but...what if not all characters are revealed even after release of the 3DS version, but after the Wii U release?
I mean, that some (like 3 or 4) characters are even programmed in the 3DS version, but they are kept COMPLETELY secret and not possible to unlock before the Wii U version.
That way not only Sakurai would suprise everyone, but it would act like a holidays gift/surprise that could raise sells on both consoles even more.

Sakurai was quoted saying that it was challenging to implement "Multiple Character Combatants" in the 3ds version. People are taking it to mean a strong hint/accidental confirmation of their return.

Maybe he was talking about transformation characters (hence why no more transfomations, Olimar, or Rosalina & Luma)

Sacagawea-san will make some unlockables hard to get or figure out (since we wouldn't know they existed). So slowly up until the Wii U version's release he can keep them a secret for the most part and hint the ways to unlock them.

That's a grand idea. Like, play a match that lasts over 36 hours but not more than 37 (for Mewtwo). Something specific like that.

Oh god your another we getting 5 not 6 guy brawl had 6 playable pokemon not the same amount as mario in brawl in other words it's overkill to get 6 again and all of the evidence before the greninja trailer especially sakurai saying we are considering mewtwo when the person asked about mewtwo in smash bros 4(by the way go talk to the mewtwo supporters in the mewtwo thread for more information why)

Well to be fair I never assume that any character is returning without evidence to support it. At this point there is evidence for the return of some characters like Captain Falcon, Wario, Ice Climbers, and at least one of the two Earthbound characters. Everyone else is just hanging out in the neutral zone, they might and they might not.

Given that the release date will probably be unveiled during E3, I think an August release is most likely. So:

• One or two veterans before E3
• One or two newcomers during E3
• One or two more veterans between E3 and launch
• One more newcomer in an early August Direct

I can honestly see Sakurai reveal 1-4 newcomers before release and announce a couple of more veterans. I'm pretty sure that we will see Meta Knight, Wario, and the Ice Climbers at some point or another.
Other veterans like Captain Falcon, Ness, Falco, Ganondorf, and Mr. Game & Watch might be revealed after when the game releases if they are hidden characters.

Honestly if it's coming out in 2 to 4 months time I can deal with not seeing any more characters. At the very least no more new characters. He's revealed 6 newcomers in total leave it at that. Brawl's release was a little disappointing in the end because when it was all said and done every new character had been revealed but two. I personally would like it if I could find some of them out on my own.

Because I don't think that we will get that many more newcomer reveals [like, 2 or 3] if Brawl had up to 4 secret newcomers that were never announced. I am expecting 14-16 newcomers this time around.

That could be are mewtwo or ridley momment if neither are shown at E3

I feel like the characters that Sakurai knows would build up hype will be revealed around e3. And I wouldn't be surprised if we got 3 newcomers like last year. Assuming King K. Rool or Palutena is in the game, I don't think Sakurai will just have them as post-release characters... Unless he wants to troll us.

Luigi was shown early because of the year of Luigi but I think Jigglypuff, Ness, Falcon and Luigi will be hidden + whoever else he has hidden plus Mega Man, Sonic and all additional 3rd parties (if they make it).

But so was Marth along with toon link and lucario and they were secret in their respective games as well. The way I see it, if Sakurai is bothering showing us characters like weegee and marth being in the game (weegee, marth, and toon link have been shown quite a bit in the daily screenshots mind you), theres a strong possibility they will be starter.

And there all unlockable characters. Sakurai has already revealed Luigi, Toon Link, Lucario, and Marth, characters who were unlockable in Brawl. I think Sakurai is revealing characters regardless of being unlockable or not. That's what's making me think about all this in the first place.

I want this to be what happens, but who is unlockable may change from game to game.

I think in E3 I hope soo... Will show 2 or 1 last newcomers and veterans to smash brothers and a actual release date of the game. We get the game, Unlock every single character in the 3DS and in a month or 3 weeks at least. Sakurai show all the characters in the spoiler part of the smash rooster. Kind like he did in Brawl dojo.
