how to play SSB64 online?

i just wanna know what i'm gonna need to download/buy irl, preferably what most players do (i.e. what the best emulator is). i started playing this game with some friends and it's hella fun, i'm interested in getting into it lol.

Melee players suck at ssb64. Noob *** melee players.
