How to do this Link move

At 3:11 Izaw does this move where I'm trying to figure out how to do

He starts off on a ledge and does a short hop and does a fair.
What buttons do I press to do the short jump from the ledge?
My friend said I had to let go of the ledge and quickly jump up and do the fair. I tried that and either I'm noob or thats just not the way...

So any ideas?

But anyway. press down to release the ledge, jump, and fair all really really fast. With a Gcube controller. Sliding ur thumb from X to the A button fast enough makes it easier.

Its important to note that if you Release Zair first you can get like 3 more frames of invincibility which is almost enough to allow you the fair first it with invincibility frames.

Try training mode in slow to train.

I don't think i'm gonna do this in matches... it seems to risky, i always fail at doing it D:

I usually press back instead of down to let go of the ledge.
