That's no DI though. If he had been using DI, he would have went a LOT more upwards, and thus lived longer not only from that, but jumping afterwards would have killed him. I understand momentum canceling - yes... jumping can cancel some momentum / get you back on track to recovering; however, if you DI right you will go in the top corner of the screen, and jumping there will kill you.Read this and watch the video.

You can't DI every attack to the top left corner of the screen though. Take the edge of Kirby's dsmash for example. It sends you at a straight horizontal angle. You can't DI all the way up to the corner. That's when you use the jump to redirect your momentum. Agreed?
