That's no DI though. If he had been using DI, he would have went a LOT more upwards, and thus lived longer not only from that, but jumping afterwards would have killed him. I understand momentum canceling - yes... jumping can cancel some momentum / get you back on track to recovering; however, if you DI right you will go in the top corner of the screen, and jumping there will kill you.

That's the point. >_>

You can't DI every attack to the top left corner of the screen though. Take the edge of Kirby's dsmash for example. It sends you at a straight horizontal angle. You can't DI all the way up to the corner. That's when you use the jump to redirect your momentum. Agreed?

O hai

Fino: when you tested with Jump, which way were you DI'ing? It's possible that there are some hits (combination of position on stage + knockback + trajectory) where you're better off intentionally DI'ing lower than the corner, specifically so that you can use your jump as a more effective means to cancel momentum. It's very character dependent tho, prolly doesn't apply to Olimar.... I don't even remember who it worked for in my test, I think it was Yoshi but only if you use his side-B "eggdrop braking" immediately afterwards to avoid the ceiling :urg: so actually I'm prolly just all wrong but putting this out there...... I can't figure out Olimar so I try not to test things with him ever
