I've been trying really hard to get better at this game and I just can't beat Fox. I listened to my friend and started at level 1 and worked all the way up to a level 7, but the second he goes above level 6 I can't beat him. Any tips for beating that little dumbo? I can't stand losing, and if I'm not the best at everything I try I cry and this is making me really sad and I can't live without being better than this level 7 Fox and why is it so hard and why is it so mean and why do I keep getting hit by his gun, it's unfair!

Regardless of this being a troll attempt or not, I will try to answer, first off you need to consider what character you are using. If its one of the worst characters in the game, then i would stop now and pick up a new one. You can find out who is worth playing by checking out the tier list. If you cant beat a level 7 yet, then you should just keep playing with friends until you get the basics down and get a decent feel for the game. Good starting characters that you should easily be able to beat a lvl 7 fox with are Marth, Sheik, or your own Fox. Be sure to use the C-Stick so that you can use smashes as quickly as possible. Once you can beat level 9s, then I suggest you start looking into advanced techniques, there are many youtube videos and threads that can assist you. One that sticks out in mind is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n4s5yB7ZkE.

And not to be discouraging or anything, but if you cant beat a level 7 yet, you are FAR from being the best. Any competent player would not even have a slight problem with level 9s.

Good luck

Really you can't beat a level 7 cpu? Even most competitive smashers, can do it. At least get to level 9 and things get tough (almost as hard as fighting mango). I'm sorry the game makes you cry, I know cpus can be incredibly demoralizing with their frame perfect taunts. As for the laser issue learn to powershield. Don't bother with fundies like spacing or mindgames though because CPUs don't gaf

LOL.

Yo, I laughed. That was rude lol.
But I don't think you can find help on how to beat the CPU here. You probably just need to play more because basically everyone who posts here is more worried about how to become a good bracket player or take games/sets/stocks off of top players.

Pro Strat vs. CPU's: Charge forward smash as they approach you. Release when in range. Repeat as necessary.

Don't play CPUs that are above level 4.

Seriously. Constantly playing higher leveled CPUs develops bad habits. You need to play actual people in order to get better. The only time you should play CPUs is when you're practicing combos and overall techskill vs low leveled CPUs. (Or if you're Mew2King and could visualize what a human would do in a given situation)

Yeah I played lots of lvl 9 CPUs on Brawl and now I am always rolling to get out of a situation....

But yeah level 9 CPUs are weird, because they know what they know what they're doing, and they also don't sometimes the most predictible moves work on them, and sometimes they will do something very unexpected (ex: last second reflector when blasted, etc...ok, maybe that was a bad example...)

I will give the same advice I gave to my friends when they had trouble. I told them, pick fox or falco, close your eyes, then push the cstick left, then right, alternating continuously. I then demonstrated by crushing the level 9.

yes, every once in a while he will hit you off stage and you will fair to your death. But you will kill him faster, especially if you pick yoshi's story. Good luck and happy hunting
